The most popular character to come out of Friends has to be Rachel Green, who remains a pop culture icon due to her fashion sense and mainstream appeal. While the show had a lot of storylines for her, as the seasons progressed, Rachel also turned out to be quite the funny character, too.
She might not be known as the funniest on the show, but that would be selling her short. Along with that, Rachel also saw her fair share of emotional and professional struggles, something that brought about some memorable moments. 10 Funny: "Hello, Ross. This Is Dr. McNulty From The Fake Accent University. We'd Like You To Work With Us Full-Time."
Ross’ nervousness at having to teach at a university brought out a weird English accent from him, something that was caught on by his friends and used to relentlessly make fun of him. Here, it was Rachel who took the most at his expense.
In this scene, she ended up calling him at work, claiming to be a professor who specialized in fake accents and wanted Ross to come on board. The funniest thing about this was the fact that the accent she put on seemed to be a cross between Irish and Scottish.
9 Heartbreaking: "...Just A Waitress...?"
Unfortunately, this situation was blown out of proportion due to a lack of context, but it did highlight Rachel’s insecurities. Ross made Chandler write down a list of pros and cons to be with Rachel, one of the latter being that she wasn’t very ambitious about her career; Chandler put this down to her being a waitress.
When she caught sight of this written, Rachel was briefly left speechless with the fact that Ross thought this of her. It was then that she realized that her insecurity with her profession was something that might not have been unfounded, as she felt terrible for being judged as "just" a waitress.

Rachel’s brand of jokes had to do with how awkward her situation would be, and here she placed herself in a position of embarrassment. When she was grilled by coworker Gavin over having a relationship with her former assistant Tag, and that she didn’t really care for him, Rachel tried to lie that she did.
When Gavin pushed her to prove it by telling Tag’s last name, she came up with the most terrible lie that Tag had no last name, and that he was the same as Madonna or even Moses.

As her parting words for their relationship, Rachel confessed that the reason she couldn’t forgive Ross was because he was the one person she had never thought would have hurt her. After hearing this, even Ross had run out of excuses.
