DC TV: 10 Arrow Characters That Should Appear On The Other Arrowverse Shows, Following Arrow's Ending
Arrow, the series that began the ever-growing Arrowverse for The CW, officially finished its run after 8 seasons. Following massive participation in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Oliver Queen’s final act in life was to (literally) create a universe, similarly to how his show launched an entire franchise of DC shows. But his reboot of the universe also caused some previously dead characters of the Stephen Amell-led drama to come back to life. In the series finale, viewers saw the return for several familiar faces that had died throughout the 8-year run. Even though Mia Queen and the Black Canaries will possibly be back next season in the Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff, the end of Arrow does technically mark the end of some of the other characters’ run.
With a total of six shows on the air next season, there are multiple options for some of the Arrow characters to show up at. Whether it’s in guest spots or even series regular positions, here are 10 Arrow characters whose time in the Arrowverse shouldn’t end just yet.
10 Moira Queen
One of the most tragic deaths for Oliver personally was when Deathstroke brutally murdered his mother Moira right in from of him and Thea. It was somewhat premature to kill Moira off after only two seasons. But through the effects of Crisis, Moira is back in the world of the living.
With the role that Moira has and could play, she would make as a perfect character for Batwoman. Whether it’s to serve as a political role (like in season 2), someone like Moira visiting Gotham City for an episode or two would make for some intriguing dynamics.
9 Tommy Merlyn
The first loss that the series suffered was right in the season 1 finale as Tommy Merlyn died after saving Laurel Lance from being buried in the shattered CNRI building. Being the fan-favorite that he was, Colin Donnell continued to come back as Tommy in various capacities. But thanks to Crisis, Tommy has another chance at life. The Flash would be the ideal place for him to visit as he and Barry Allen share a common element: they were both best friends of Oliver.
8 Quentin Lance
The Lance family certainly hasn’t had the easiest time in the Arrowverse. Quentin Lance became the latest family member to bite the dust at the end of season 6. But unlike his daughters, he wasn’t brought back by a Lazarus Pit nor did a doppelganger take his place. However, with Crisis changing the history for Earth-Prime, Quentin’s death never happened.
One of the best crossover moments that involved Quentin was when he teamed up with The Flash’s Joe West back in the spinoff’s first season. Seeing Quentin getting to engage with characters that are in the same field as he was something that should have been explored more of. Perhaps now there is the opportunity to revisit those kinds of team-ups.
7 Emiko Queen
Oliver’s family got a surprising expansion during the seventh season as Emiko Queen entered the Arrowverse. While her arc in season 7 led to a tragic death, Emiko is now alive in the post-Crisis timeline as she showed up at Oliver’s funeral. With a new chance at life, any of the shows could properly explore Emiko in a different light.
6 Felicity Smoak
While Oliver is together with Felicity in the Afterlife, that’s the 2040 version of his wife. In the present, Felicity is still alive and raising baby Mia. The best show that Felicity really fitted in with the most was whenever she visited Team Flash in Central City. Her friendship with Barry in the early seasons made those mini-crossovers a lot of fun.
As her relationships with the other characters have also grown, it would be refreshing to have Felicity return for a few episodes down the line. With Oliver no longer in the picture (from her timeline), perhaps working with the heroes of STAR Labs could benefit Felicity as she begins to live a life without her husband.
5 Deathstroke
Since Moira is now alive in the post-Crisis world, it’s a bit unclear what has happened to Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. Whether he still became an ally to Oliver during the war against Prometheus has been left ambiguous. If he has returned to being a villain again, perhaps Deathstroke would be a great antagonist for any of the shows or even as a big bad for a future crossover. With Slade being such a big player in the franchise, it seems like a wasted opportunity to not use him again after Crisis rebooted the Arrowverse.
4 Speedy
While she ended up playing a smaller role in the later seasons, Speedy ended up being back for parts of the final season. It always felt like there were more stories to tell with Thea that simply didn’t get explored.
Having seen Thea’s growth over the last couple of seasons, Speedy deserves a bigger shot in the spotlight with her fellow heroes. Given that she is one of the younger heroes of the DC TV realm, a team-up on Supergirl has the potential for some fun stories.
3 Arsenal
Thea’s final story also became Roy Harper’s happy ending as he proposed to her in the series finale. Now that they’re engaged, it would be a shame to not get a follow-up to where they’re now following the events of Arrow’s end. If Legends of Tomorrow ever ends up needing a few new members, perhaps Thea and Roy together could take a visit to the Waverider for a few episodes.
2 Wild Dog
Introduced in the fifth season and sticking until the very end, Wild Dog’s journey is far from over. Every season saw Rene grow as a character and by the time the series ended, it felt like it was too soon to say goodbye to him just yet. Wild Dog would probably be a better fit for something like Batwoman as he is one of the grittier heroes of the Arrowverse.
1 Diggle
While the show was called Arrow, the series was as much of John Diggle’s story as it was Oliver’s. Diggle, who was an original character for the show, became an instrumental player for the entire 8-year run. Imagining this franchise without him seems impossible at this point. Given his ending that pretty much hinted at his potential adventures as a Green Lantern, any of the 6 shows would be a perfect new home for him. Realistically speaking, Black Lightning or Superman & Lois is probably where he would be best serviced. With there being talks about Diggle’s potential future, it will hopefully not be long until viewers find out where Diggle is going next.
