Memories: Albert Celades and the Spanish team in MFC
Today we remember the passage through MFC of the manager and former player Albert Celades. He visited us as part of the entourage of the Spanish Under-17 team, which went to MFC to participate in the Friendly Match Week U17-Costa del Sol 2018.
This event was held in February 2018 and had the participation of Spain, France, Scotland, Poland and Belgium. It is an appointment that is repeated annually and to which many top-level teams are used to come to prepare for the championships.
As a player, Celades played for FC Barcelona, Celta de Vigo, Real Madrid, Girondins de Bordeaux, Zaragaoza and NY Red Bull. During this time he won 1 Champions League with Real Madrid, 4 Spanish leagues (2 with Madrid and 2 with Barça) and 2 cups with Barça.
As a coach, he began his career always linked to the Spanish National Team. 40 games among U-16, U-17 and U-21. Then he was Fernando Hierro’s assistant in the 2018 World Cup with the absolute team.
In 2019 Celades begins to manage his first club, taking over Valencia CF, currently being the manager of the team.
