5 Fantasy Movies Leo Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate) | ScreenRant
Leos are one of the brightest signs in the zodiac. A fire sign, they prize bravery, leadership, and adventure--but also enjoy a good laugh. Alongside a fantastic story, they like a little bit of the cheese factor and movies that are able to dominate in plot, while having a little bit of a wink, wink, nudge, nudge feeling.
Here are some fantasy movies that will suit a Leo's tastes and some that will leave these lions feeling cold.
10 Love: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
The fourth entry into the Harry Potter series is an excellent movie for Leos. Like Harry, Leos have a taste for adventure, but also sometimes end up going too deep in their adventures. They will really enjoy the competition set up of this film, as well as the thrilling world-building aesthetics it provides.
Leos love a champion and will be rooting for Harry to succeed in the movie's tasks, all while waiting with bated breath to see how the story untwists. (Even if they already know the ending!)
9 Hate: Spirited Away (2001)
The relatively slow pacing and incredibly atmospheric quality of Spirited Away might appeal to other signs, but not to Leos. This movie is more water than fire, and it definitely douses Leos flames.
While the film has moments of quicker pacing, it's a bit serious and too rooted in subtleties for a Leo to really cleave to.
8 Love: Lord of The Rings, The Return of the King (2003)
There's nothing a Leo likes more than the triumphant victory of good, a conceit with Return of the King delivers on with flying colors. In this final offering of the Lord of the Rings saga, there is plenty for Leos to love--big battles, heroic one-liners, just the right kind of emotional scene, and more.
A Leo will always be moved by Aragorn's speech before the final battle--and that is a cold, hard fact.
7 Hate: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Leos will find this movie to be uncomfortable to watch. While it aims to create a bit of cheesy, yet creepy, fantasy world, it falls short of its aims. Leos won't approve of the too weird cast of characters or the aesthetic of the movie which has none of the warm delight that its earlier version, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, brought to life.
Leos love a hero and unfortunately, they can't find one here.
6 Love: Labyrinth (1986)
Labyrinth is exactly the kind of fantasy movie a Leo is obsessed with. This '80s film has everything the lion sign could want, glamourous parties, a goblin king in leather, a solid dance soundtrack, and that kind of cheesy humor that Leos absolutely adore, all mixed up with an excellent story.
Labyrinth is also another classic mission-oriented movie and Leos love to watch it and imagine how they would smash through the trials of the maze to victory.
5 Hate: Cinderella (2015)
While the original Cinderella speaks to the Leo heart, the remake doesn't do as much for them. Like most remakes, the second outing lacks a bit of the heart that the original had, coming off as nothing more than a vapid imitation that strives and fails for the same magic... And Leos hate vapidity.
The Lion sign is all about sincerity and they will sincerely feel empty watching this movie.
4 Love: Twilight (2008)
Twilight may seem like an odd choice for Leos, but, in truth, they will revel in its absurdity, enjoy laughing at it as much as with it, as they watch. Twilight may not know it's a bit of a comedy, but Leos certainly do. Not to mention, the overly intense nature of its love story, alongside its standard, but cozy, qualities will catch a Leo's attention.
They may never fully admit to it, or maybe they will, you never know with a Leo, but they also enjoy the love story very much.
3 Hate: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
Half-Blood Prince just doesn't do it for Leos. They adore the Harry Potter series, but HBP is too mundane for their tastes, focusing a lot on memories and romances, and not enough on epic-scaled battles.
While the end does pick up a bit, most of the book seems to be too much filler for a goal-oriented Leo.
2 Love: The Princess Bride (1987)
The Princess Bride is the ultimate in Leo offerings. A quest movie, with a great romance, great one-liners, a cast of colorful characters, a hero to root for, and the best thing for a Leo, plenty of navel-gazing laughs. The movie knows its corny and leans into it and that is big-cat nip for a Leo.
As Leos wish, certainly.
1 Hate: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)
Fantastic Beasts doesn't cut it for Leos. They're looking for the scale and heart of the other Harry Potter films when they watch something from the franchise and this movie lacks it for a Leo.
While they enjoy the creatures, they won't really like much else.
