PIERS Morgan has revealed he’s going back to work at Good Morning Britain on Monday after fans begged for his return.

The 55-year-old hasn’t presented the show since revealing he was suffering from coronavirus symptoms at the weekend.

Viewers  tuned in this morning hoping to see Piers back on the telly, but were disappointed to discover he is still not well enough to return.

Responding to The Sun’s story about fans begging for his return, Piers said: “Relax everyone, I’ll be back Monday.”

Poorly Piers was tested for coronavirus on Sunday, but found to be negative the next day.

He said he wouldn’t be returning to work until a doctor advised he was able to.

This morning fans rallied to encourage the presenter to return to work, with one saying: “I know you’re unwell, but come on @piersmorgan – get back to Good Morning Britain soon! Our mornings are not quite the same without you!”

Another added: “@piersmorgan come back..you are missed.”

Someone else said: “@GMB sooooo boring without @piersmorgan! Come back soon.”

A regular viewer added: “Piers please get better soon and come back to #goodmorningbritain – I know we cannot miss you unless you go away but these are #twilightofthegods times and Britain needs you!”

One fan insisted: “PIERS MORGAN COME BACK ON ITV AND SPEAK YOUR MIND THAT IS WHAT YOU DO!!!!”

The GMB star revealed this weekend he was having a Covid-19 test on the advice of his doctor after suffering mild symptoms.

Piers told fans: “UPDATE: My COVID-19 test was negative.

“I was advised to take the test by my doctor after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and was entitled to do so as a Govt-designated essential worker.

“I’ll be back on @GMB as soon as my doctor advises I’m OK to return to work.”

Piers’ co-host Susanna Reid shared Piers’ health update with viewers as the breakfast show kicked off on Tuesday, saying he had tested negative.

Dr. Hilary Jones added his relief as he said that the star will be “back before we know it”.

Piers has been replaced by Ben Shephard alongside Susanna.

While they were on air, Piers tweeted from his sickbed. he said: “REMINDER: “We’ve had to suffer one week of lockdown so far for every YEAR the WW2 generation had to suffer similar curbs on their liberty.”
