Belize Nаtionals in Europe Can Extend Their Visas Free of Charge
Belizean nationals who remain in Europe due to the Coronavirus pandemic and whose visas are about to expire will be eligible to extend them, the Embassy of Belize in Brussels announced.
According to the Embassy of Belize, visa extension for Belizean citizens who remain in Europe will be free of charge, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
“Thе Еmbаѕѕу оf Веlіzе іn Вruѕѕеlѕ wіѕhеѕ tо іnfоrm Веlіzеаn nаtіоnаlѕ сurrеntlу vіѕіtіng оr rеѕіdіng in Еurоре оn а Ѕсhеngеn Vіѕа, аnd whоѕе ѕtау mау nееd tо bе ехtеndеd аѕ а rеѕult оf thе СОVІD-19 Раndеmіс thаt thеу аrе gеnеrаllу еlіgіblе fоr vіѕа ехtеnѕіоnѕ frее оf сhаrgе duе tо thе Fоrсе Мајеurе сlаuѕе,” the statement reads.
Amid the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19), Belize decided to close its borders for all its citizens who seek to enter the country, since April 5, as part of Belize’s efforts to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
“Effective from April 5, all borders are also closed to Belizean nationals seeking to enter the country. This decision was made by the Government of Belize with unanimous support from the National Oversight Committee to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” the Belizean press release has stressed.
Nationals coming from abroad will be eligible to enter the country for the purposes of an emergency or seeking emergency medical care. These preventive measures will last for the duration of the national state of emergency. All borders for exiting the country will remain closed as well.
As per the extending of visas, Czech Republic also has informed foreign citizens who remain in the country and whose visas or residence permits have expired, amid the Coronavirus, that will be allowed to stay in the Czech Republic until July 17, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Due to Coronavirus, Spain decided to extend tax breaks and visa permissions granted to UEFA for the hosting of Euro 2020 matches, which are scheduled to be played in Bilbao, as the tournament has been postponed until next year.
