No fresh COVID-19 cases for 2nd consecutive day in Kerala
In a major relief to
Kerala, which is expecting over 350 expatriates to arrive by special flights later Thursday, the health department said no fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from the state for the second consecutive day.
Health Minister K K Shailaja said the state government has also removed 56 areas from the hotspot category and test reports of five COVID-19 patients were reported negative in the state, taking the total number of those cured to 474.
"Three people from Kannur, two from Kasaragod were cured onThursday.As of now, only 25 people are under treatment in the state," the minister said in a release.
As per the latest medical bulletin, 16,693 are under observation in the state and 310 are in isolation wards of various hospitals.
"Till now, 35,171 samples have been sent for testing.There are no new hotspots in the state.
Meanwhile, we have removed 56 areas from the hotspot category.As of now there are 33 hotspots in the state," the minister said.
