Photographer: Elena Pinna Summary Authors: Elena Pinna; Jim FosterThis sequence of the rising Moon was taken on April 9 (2020) from my home in Villacidro, Sardinia, Italy. It’s always a treat to observe the Moon change color as it clears the eastern horizon and climbs higher in the sky. Decreasing path length of moonlight, as the Moon gains altitude, is responsible for its creamier color. A passing cloud gave this almost full Moon a Saturn-like appearance in frame 2.
