1972
Gene Bergin won the Modified feature and Gary Ryan won the Late Model Sportsman feature. Bergin’s win was his lone win of 1972 and the 13th of his 15 career modified feature wins at Stafford. Ryan’s win was his third consecutive win of the 1972 season and he would go on to win twice more for a total of 5 wins. Ryan won 27 LM-Sportsman features at Stafford from 1970-1976 and one SK Modified® feature in 1983.
1982
Greg Sacks scored won the Winston 100 for what was already his 3rd win of the 1982 season. Sacks would go on to win 12 times that season en route to the track championship. Dave Wandzy won the Street Stock feature, which was the first of four wins he would notch in 1982.
1989
The 1989 Spring Sizzler® was run on May 7 and Mike Stefanik scored the first of his four career Sizzler® victories. Stefanik would go on to win the Sizzler® again in 1990 and he went back to back a second time by winning the 1997 and 1998 Spring Sizzlers®. Ted Christopher won the SK Modified® feature, which was the 15th SK Modified® win of his career at the time and the first of 5 wins he notched in 1989. Phil Rondeau won the Late Model feature for the first of his 2 wins in 1989 that helped carry him to his third consecutive Late Model track title.
1993
Dennis Gada was the SK Modified® winner, Willie Hardie won the ProStock feature, Larry Vassar won the Late Model feature, and Dean Casagrande was the DARE Stock winner. Gada was declared the feature winner after Mike Paquette was disqualified for an oversize engine and it was the lone Stafford victory of Gada’s career. Hardie’s win was his first career win at Stafford. Hardie would win twice in 1993 and he won 20 races in his Stafford career, 13 in the SK Modified® division and 7 in the ProStock division. Larry Vassar’s win was the fourth of his career at Stafford and his second of five wins during the 1993 season. Vassar scored 11 career Late Model wins at Stafford and 1 ProStock win. Dean Casagrande’s win was the second of his career and his second of three during the 1993 season. Casagrande would move to the Late Model division where he would win 7 times along with 4 career DARE wins.
1999
Jeff Malave won the SK Modified® feature, Doug Coby won the ProStock feature, Tom Keller won the Late Model feature, and Gary Spinnato won the DARE Stock feature. Malave’s win was his first career Stafford win, he would go on to score 7 SK Modified® feature wins in his career. Coby’s win was his first of 6 ProStock wins in 1999 and the 5th win of his Stafford career. Coby to date has recorded 5 SK Modified® wins, 8 ProStock wins, 4 Late Model wins, and 12 Whelen Modified Tour wins, including 4 NAPA Spring Sizzlers®. Keller’s win was his only win of the 1999 season and was the second and final win of his Stafford career. Spinnato’s win his first of 2 wins in 1999 and it was the 6th of his 7 career DARE Stock wins.
2004
Lloyd Agor won the SK Modified® feature, Mike Quintiliano won the Late Model feature, Aaron Goff won the DARE Stock feature, and in qualifying races Mike Holdridge was the 21 Means 21 SK Modified® winner and Joe Rzeszutek was the Late Model 16 winner. Agor’s win was his only win of the 2004 season and the 12th of his 15 career wins. Quintiliano’s win was the third consecutive win to open the 2004 season and the 14th of his 20 career wins. Goff’s feature win was the only win of his Stafford career.
2010
Frank Ruocco won the SK Modified® feature, Woody Pitkat won the Lincoln Tech Late Model 100, David WEbb won the SK Light feature, Dan Flannery was declared the Limited Late Model feature winner after George Nocera’s car failed the minimum weight requirement in post-race inspection, and Jeff Jolly won the DARE Stock feature. Ruocco’s win was the first of four wins in 2010 and the 13th win of his career. Pitkat’s win was his first of 8 wins in 2010 and it was the 41st of his 77 career Stafford wins. Webb’s win was his only win of 2010 and it was the third and final win of his Stafford career thus far. Flannery’s victory was his 2nd of 6 wins during the 2010 season that saw him claim the track championship. Jolly’s win was the first of 3 wins in 2010 and the 7th of his 10 career wins.
