Science, tech diplomacy vital now
THE world is going through an unprecedented moment in the post-globalisation era since World War 2. Globalisation has facilitated the worldwide spread of diseases through the movement of people. The magnitude of Ebola’s spread in Western Africa, and Zika’s spread in Latin America and the Caribbean, are examples of the widespread nature of diseases, followed by unilateral action by governments banning people from certain countries from entering their countries.
