Saratoga Subaru donates more than 50,000 meals to Feeding America
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Saratoga Subaru and Subaru of America have donated 51,153 meals to Feeding America helping those affected by COVID-19 in the Capital Region.
This donation helps Feeding America respond to increased food insecurity in Upstate New York by donating to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, who will then distribute to smaller food pantries locally.
The donation is part of the “Subaru Loves to Help” pillar of the community-focused “Subaru Love Promise” initiative aimed to support their community in various ways. The Feeding America meal donation is one way the Mackey Auto Group dealerships are giving back to the community where they live and work.
“I have been proud to work with the Subaru brand for 25 years and witness firsthand all the good they do in communities,” said Mackey Auto Group Managing Member Chris Mackey. “Mackey Auto Group is a committed member of this community, and we’re glad to give back and alleviate some of the immediate needs that have surfaced with the COVID-19 outbreak.”
“We encourage our neighbors to join this initiative to help people in the area,” Mackey added. To learn more, and give, visit Subaru Feeding America.
In total, Subaru of America is donating 50 million meals to Feeding America and their 200 member food banks across the country.
“In these trying times we all search for stability in our daily lives,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and CEO, Subaru of America. “We hope that through this donation to Feeding America, we can provide the comfort and stability of a meal for people who struggle with hunger in America. We must all stay safe but remember to help others where we can.”
