Dropbox shares rise nearly 5% on revenue, earnings gains
Dropbox Inc. shares initially climbed nearly 5% in after-hours trading Thursday after the enterprise-software company reported fiscal first-quarter revenue and net income that topped Wall Street estimates. Dropbox reported net income of $39.3 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with a loss of $7.7 million, or 2 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter. Revenue climbed 18% to $455 million from $385.6 million a year ago. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected net income of 14 cents a share on sales of $446 million. Dropbox shares are down 6% in the last year. The broader S&P 500 index is up 0.4% in the last year.
