Pam Beesly is one of the main characters from The Office who isn’t always over the top. She provides a good grounding force for the series as she’s more realistic and kind and less likely to do completely ridiculous things.
Throughout the nine seasons of the show, she goes through a lot of growth and big life events. Because of this, there were many moments where fans felt inspired by her as well as times where they felt sorry for what she was going through.

It’s clear from pretty early on that Pam’s relationship with Roy isn’t a great one. Even if there wasn’t a budding romance with Jim, her relationship with Roy would have been bad news. He wasn’t really there for her, and he never supported her.
He was selfish and self-absorbed, and he never appreciated Pam and who she really was. Plus, he had a bit of an angry side.

When Jim comes back to Scranton after moving to Stamford, Pam is happy to see him. She is clearly excited at the idea of them possibly being able to date now that she is broken up with Roy.

A lot of Pam’s character development throughout the series revolves around her learning to do the things that make her happy. So, when she decides to go to art school even though it means she has to be away from Jim, it’s a good moment for her.
While it doesn’t go according to plan and she doesn't finish, the fact that she took the risk and had a new experience was inspiring and showed fans that it’s okay to try and even okay to fail.

The way that Michael, Dwight, and other male employees of Dunder Mifflin Scranton treated the women was unacceptable at many turns.
Pam was often on the receiving end of a lot of harassment because she was the receptionist and also viewed as attracted. She had to endure a lot of harassment about her appearance and gender, and it was really difficult to watch.

Despite the fact that many of her co-workers weren’t that nice to her, Pam did try her best to be there for other people and support them.
She was a supportive friend at various times to many of the other employees. She was a good friend to Michael And even Dwight, and she also had moments where she would talk to and support people like Erin and Angela when they needed help.

While most of the relationship between Jim and Pam is set up as a sort of modern fairytale romance, the final season of The Office shows that even their relationship isn’t perfect.
Jim makes many decisions without Pam, and he tries to take their family’s life in a new direction without her on board. He then gets upset with her for not just going along with things. It was definitely a hard thing for many fans to do their relationship to watch.
