Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ Leak Reveals Massive Display Screen & Camera Setup
We're in the season of reliable smartphone rumors and now it's Samsung's turn with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ design renders being leaked. The upcoming device will reportedly be familiar.
Samsung's Galaxy Note series has become synonymous with giant displays. Generally speaking, every phone today is bigger than the average phone from even three years ago, so the novelty of the oversized Note line is gone. However, it's still a behemoth that slightly out-sizes even the largest versions of big phones like the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max or OnePlus 8 Pro. These kinds of leaks are common in Spring as manufacturers have to show their hand a bit in preparation for third party accessory companies to see what they'll be working with, so chances are the size details here will be close to the final product.
This information comes from two reliable sources who often post new phone details on Twitter: Pigtou and OnLeaks. They've revealed that the Galaxy Note 20+ will, as expected, be a large phone, with its 6.9" curved display. Beyond its size, most of the dimensions and physical design are fairly standard at this point. There's no headphone jack. There's a "hole-punch" front-facing camera. There's a large rear camera bump with an array of lenses. All this is to say that it won't be a dramatically different silhouette, but it also doesn't need to be.
The new Note should fill the same space as the previous ones, which means it will be Samsung's most specs-heavy phone. Expect it to be faster and more capable than even the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra from earlier this year. Details about what's under the hood have yet to be revealed but it appears Samsung will at least be using a different camera setup than it did with the S20. This time, there's the potential for a depth-sensing laser autofocus system which would be great as autofocus was considered the Achilles heel of the S20 line. Such a feature could keep it in line with Apple's rumored iPhone 12 which should have the same LiDAR depth-sensing capabilities as the 2020 iPad Pro. It's also reasonable to expect the same communication standards of the Galaxy S20, which would mean the device is 5G-ready.
The Galaxy Note 20+ is expected to release in August 2020, along with the normal Galaxy Note 20. Prices are obviously still unannounced (as are the phones themselves) but expect them to cost more than the S20, approaching $1,000 for the base model. There's potential for a COVID-19-related delay but that's unlikely given how early these devices are planned, the abundance of materials to build them, and the expected release date being so late in the year.
