Rumour Mongering: Liverpool Probably (Not) Signing Thomas Meunier

Talk in France has the Reds in for the PSG right back but the English journos say no. Thomas Meunier’s time at Paris Saint-Germain looks to be at an end, with the French league having abandoned their season earlier this month and the 28-year-old Belgian right back’s contract expiring in the summer.

That led to talk of a Tottenham move in recent weeks, with reports out of France that Jose Mourinho wanted to bring in Munier to solve his problems at the position—and then, today, Le10sport claimed Liverpool were entering the race.

Given Munier’s age and wage, and that it’s unlikely the player would move to be a backup or that the Reds would pay the kind of wages he’d demand for him to be a backup, it’s not a rumour that made a lot of sense.
