Netflix’s Umbrella Academy Season 2 Trailer Arrives TOMORROW
A new video teaser has been posted, revealing The Umbrella Academy season 2 trailer will be released tomorrow, May 28. Netflix's hit show, which was released in 2019, and seen by over 45 million households in its first month alone, will return to screens on July 31, when all 10 episodes of season 2 will be available for streaming.
The show follows the Hargreeves children, a group of gifted kids all miraculously born on October 1, 1989, who are adopted by eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves. The first season followed Vanya (Ellen Page), Diego (David Castañeda), Luther (Tom Hooper), Allisson (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), and Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) as they reunited to solve the mystery of their father's death. By the end of the season, Vanya has discovered her powers and in doing so causes the apocalypse, and the rest of the Hargreeves have been transported back in time (viewers are led to believe) in order to prevent the catastrophe from happening. Where they really are, though, no one knows.
A new video, posted by The Umbrella Academy's Twitter account today, reveals that a trailer for the second season will be coming tomorrow. The post says "have you seen the Hargreeves? time travel composites coming tomorrow..." accompanied by a video showing a pneumatic tube that will be familiar to fans of the show, which says "incoming transmission." Take a look for yourself below:
The Umbrella Academy season 2 release date was only revealed just over a week ago, in a video that showed the cast dancing at home during the coronavirus lockdown, to the tune of "I Think We're Alone Now," a reference to the fan-favorite scene from season 1. This new tweet, however, teases the fact that the trailer might reveal what happened to the Hargreeves, and where we could end up seeing them travel in season 2. With the show's release just a couple of months away, anticipation is increasing, and fans will be desperate for any hints as to what the plot could be for season 2.
The first Umbrella Academy season 2 posters posed the question of "when are they?" rather than where, and it's clear that time travel will once again play a major role in this season. Could the Hargreeves have all been scattered to different times? Speculation has been rife that this is the case, and tomorrow's trailer may reveal more details. Aside from a reveal by the composer that the setting will change drastically, along with the addition of new characters, little is known about season 2, but if the writers manage to reach the heights of season 1, then fans are in for a treat.
Umbrella Academy season 2 will stream all 10 episodes on Netflix starting July 31.
