[Men's Golf] CCAC-leading eight Bees named to all-academic men's golf team
CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University and Trinity Christian College each claimed a share of the most men's golf all-academic selections when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference office made the announcement on Wednesday morning. Each school earned a total of eight spots on the 46-member squad.
The eight Bees making the list were Johnny Callahan, Colin Evers, Cooper Kilberg, Ethan Neumer, Thomas Resnick, Jake Sevcik, Michael Showers and Jared Tigges.
Olivet Nazarene University was next in line with six recipients followed by Roosevelt University and University of St. Francis with five honorees each and Holy Cross College and Judson University with four each. The rest of the squad was made up of representatives from Saint Xavier University (three), Indiana University South Bend (two) and Indiana University Northwest (one).
Two individuals that gained the distinction boasted perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages and both were part of a group of 22 repeat selections. Of those, six made the team for the third year in a row.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
