RHOA’s Nene Leakes insists she was NOT fired from show despite report she ‘lost her peach’
NENE Leakes insisted she was not fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta following reports she ‘had lost her peach.’
Just yesterday, Love B. Scott reported that Nene had been fired from the show, claiming that Nene had not received a pickup letter from the network.
Nene, 52, laughed off rumors that she had been fired from the Bravo show on Wednesday night.
She first posted a series of laughing emojis without context before tweeting again.
“I promise I’ll be the first to tell you myself! Thanks you for the love,” she tweeted lastly.
A spokesperson even told PEOPLE that Bravo was counting with Nene to come back for the next season of RHOA.
“There is no truth to this story – Nene was not fired and conversations for the next season are still ongoing,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE.
Steven Grossman, Nene’s manager, also stood by Bravo and said: “It is absolutely not true that Nene has been fired from RHOA.
“Furthermore, it was made abundantly clear prior that she will always be welcome on the series as long as she wants to be.”
Grossman noted they are “having on-going bigger picture conversations with NBC Universal and have not made any decisions regarding next season specifically.”
“Any speculation or sources trying to create controversy by stating otherwise are incredibly inaccurate.”
Nene hasn’t been the only one shutting down rumors that she was fired as Cynthia Bailey also had to clarify she was not fired from the show.
She said in an interview: “I’ve been on [RHOA] for 11 years. I never signed on to be on it for the rest of my life, so I don’t worry about it.
“When the network decides it’s time for me to go, I’m going to go. I would like to be able to at least show where I’m at in my life with my wedding right now, but I’m pretty good.
“Bravo’s been good to me and Truly Original has been really good to me, and there is life after the show. I have a lot of things in life that I do other than the show. It’s good. It’s good.”
Fans of the Bravo series are still waiting to hear about the full cast lineup for season 13, as who’s returning, who’s not and who’s new is still being figured out.
However, fans know that Eva Marcille quit the show.
In a statement to The Sun, mother of three Eva shared: “I appreciate the bond of friendship that I have made with several of my cast mates, and the strong personal relationships I have cultivated with numerous executives and producers from Bravo and Truly Original.”
The 35-year-old RHOA alum continued: “I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided.
“However, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities.
“I look forward to serving my community on the Rickey Smiley Morning show and finding ways to be a voice during this transformational time in our country for people of color.”
