The Lagoon of Whispers in Sea of Thieves is a small location players can sail to, either solo or with a crew, and find Tall Tales landmarks, treasure, and snakes to bring back for the Merchant Alliance. In the popular single- and multiplayer pirate simulation game, players can use maps to travel to distant islands containing treasures, animals, landmarks, and other quest items. While the Lagoon of Whispers is one of the smaller locations in the game, a recent update has added a few new features to the region, making it a must-visit for players following the story or looking to complete their collections.
The Lagoon of Whispers is a collection of four small islands in a circle. It is located in the Shores of Plenty Region. In a recent update, Umbra has arrived to the doughnut-shaped archipelago and built a shop for a new quest. In it, players can collect tales of legendary pirates in exchange for unique Tattoos and other rewards, and several mysterious journals have appeared on the island that helps complete a new quest. Players wanting to quest or collect in the Lagoon may struggle to find it at first. This guide will explain how to find the Lagoon of Whispers in Sea of Thieves and which quests require a trip to its elusive shores.
The Lagoon of whispers is located in the northwest region of the map known as the Shores of Plenty. This region is known for its tropical and desert themes. The Lagoon is located south and slightly east of Golden Sands Outpost, north and slightly west of Sailor's Knot Stronghold and directly west of Wanderer's Refuge.
On the image of the map available on Steam, the Lagoon's coordinates are D-15. However, some sources have also listed the coordinates as D-12. There are several different versions of the map, however, which may account for the discrepancy. The island has a distinctive shape, with each of the four pieces having a distinct character. The two larger portions of the island have vegetation, while the two smaller pieces are mostly made of sand.
There are locations related to the Wild Rose Tall Tale quest that requires a voyage to the Lagoon of Whispers. Players can find the location for A Kiss and A Miss and Box of Spices on the island.
The island only contains snakes and no other animal, making it a good location to collect snakes for Merchant Alliance missions. It also contains seven barrels with resources ranging from food to ammunition.
Perhaps the best reason to visit the Lagoon of Whispers is to begin the new quest, Legends of the Sea. To do this, players will need to find Umbra, who has put up her shop on the island and who has been collecting rumors about legendary pirates. She will ask the player to find out more about these rumors. These stories will add to the lore of the game, explaining the meaning behind paintings, books, and other details throughout the game as well as stories of some of the most legendary players from the history of the game. Players can earn Commendations, Doubloons, and unique Tattoos for each location they find.
Umbra also has three journals players can find on the island that detail how she came to the Sea of Thieves. Finding these journals will not result in Commendations.
There is an additional side quest players can receive from Umbra to find the other ten journals she has left in various locations around the Sea of Thieves chronicling the history of events in the Bilge Rat Adventures series and the changes that have resulted. Players can receive Doubloons for each journal they find, as well as Commendations. To begin this quest, players will need to voyage to the Lagoon of Whispers and speak with Umbra.
