Shawnee County Commission rejects Gov. Kelly’s mask order

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Commission rejected Gov. Laura Kelly’s mask order during their Thursday meeting.

Shawnee County officials are now drafting a new mask policy based on the recommendations outlined in Gov. Kelly’s original order. Officials will discuss the new county policy next week.

Individual counties will still need to follow specific county guidelines for masks, however, Gov. Kelly’s order is now a recommendation.
