‘Bring back Poch’ – Some Spurs fans react to the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United
Some Tottenham Hotspur supporters have taken to social media to share their three-word reactions following the 3-1 defeat to Premier League new boys Sheffield United.
The loss at Bramall Lane has all but ended Tottenham’s hopes of mounting a late challenge for Champions League qualification and are now set to miss out on competing in European football’s most prestigious club competition.
Tottenham will feel hard done by to have had a goal chalked off by VAR when it was ruled that Lucas Moura had made contact with the ball with his arm while being tackled which ended up with Harry Kane finding the back of the net.
However, despite the harshness of the decision, Spurs cannot make excuses for how they defended. The Blades took advantage of slack defending from Jose Mourinho’s back line to carve open chances resulting in simple tap-ins for Lys Mousset and Ollie McBurnie.
Harry Kane managed to grab a conslation in injury time, but it was too little too late for the visitors.
Here’s what some Spurs fans had to say:
