Way-hey to Z of staying good in bed with our tips to a fulfilling sex-life
FINDING it hard to keep your partner satisfied? Take a leaf out of 89-year-old new dad Bernie Ecclestone’s book.
The former F1 boss welcomed baby Ace into the world last week with wife Fabiana Flosi, 44.
While even men half his age might be reaching for the little blue pills, Bernie boasts that his sexual prowess is all down to taking Vitamin D. But what else can give you an all-natural boost in the bedroom?
From acupuncture to Zzz (sleep), Katy Docherty brings you the alphabet guide to a long-lasting and fulfilling sex life.
A is for ACUPUNCTURE: Get ting prodded by needles has been proven to help your sex life. In a study, 21 per cent of men reported that they had better erections after getting acupuncture.
B is for BEAT THE BULGE: Obesity can lower libido in men by lowering their testosterone levels but it can also affect your confidence in the bedroom. Follow a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise.
C is for CARNIVORES: Beef, chicken, and pork contain carnitine, L-arginine, and zinc. Carnitine and L-arginine are amino acids that improve blood flow when eaten in moderation, while zinc boosts testosterone levels and ramps up sex drive.
D is for DE-STRESS: The stress hormone cortisol has a negative effect on your libido. Try to relax by going for a walk or listening to calming music.
E is for EXERCISE: Being active (outside the bedroom) gets your blood pumping and cardiovascular exercise increases your blood flow. Weight training will also help with stamina in the bedroom.
F is for FENUGREEK: The herb fenugreek has been shown to boost sex hormones in both men and women. It tastes like maple syrup and can be taken in supplement form.
G is for GARLIC: It might be stinky but garlic contains allicin, which thins the blood and prevents heart disease — which will also boost blood flow to your naughty bits.
H is for HAPPINESS: The scent of a woman’s tears sends out a chemical signal to men that has been proven to lower testosterone levels and, in turn, their libido.
I is for INDULGE: Treating yourself with food, drink or even a shopping spree can boost dopamine — the pleasure hormone. Increased levels of dopamine correspond with a higher libido.
J is for JAVA: Drinking two cups of coffee can increase sexual desire in women and help with erectile dysfunction in men, according to studies.
K is for KICK THE HABIT: Smoking restricts blood vessels, which will affect sexual performance in men. Non-smokers have twice as much sex as smokers.
L is for LEAFY GREENS: Vita min B found in green veggies will help you to ward off low energy levels and boost your sex drive.
M is for MEDITATE: Women who meditate have better sex lives and higher levels of arousal than women who don’t, according to a 2018 study.
N is for NUTS: Vitamin A found in nuts and grains is essential for sperm production and evens out a woman’s reproductive cycle.
O is for OMEGA 3: Fatty acids found in oily fish such as mackerel or sardines will boost your energy levels and increase stamina to keep you and your partner going.
P is for PEPPERS: Vitamin C found in red and green peppers — as well as citrus fruit like oranges — can help if you can’t get it up. Your body can’t store Vitamin C so you need to be eating it every day.
Q is for QUERCETIN: This antioxidant found in apples, cherries and onions will prevent the pelvic condition interstitial cystitis, which lowers a woman’s sex drive.
R is for RED WINE: Studies have shown two glasses of vino raise testosterone levels for men and increase sexual desire in women. But beware — one glass too many could have the opposite effect.
S PICE UP YOUR SEX LIFE: Sex toys and trying new things can heighten excitement in the bedroom. Studies have found that women who use sex toys with a partner have heightened orgasms.
T is for TURN UP THE HEAT: Increased Vitamin D levels from sunshine can give your love life a boost. Having fun in the sun also boosts the happy hormone serotonin.
U is for UNDERSTANDING: Talking to your partner about your sex life will improve your relationship and help you know each other’s desires. Couples who talk about sex have better sex lives, according to researchers.
V is for VANILLA ICE CREAM: The scent of vanilla is said to be an aphrodisiac — the bean also contains Vitamin B-6, which boosts sex hormones in men and women.
W is for WATER: Staying hydrated stops headaches, which will put you off sex, and will keep your nether regions healthy and increase pleasure.

Y is for YOGA: Doing the downward dog can improve your sexual desire — especially for women. One study from Brown University in the US sent women on a 12-week yoga course and revealed they could get aroused faster.
Z is for ZZZ . . . GET SOME SLEEP: A good rest the night before having sex has been proven to boost sexual desire in women. Getting an extra hour’s sleep increases the likelihood you will want to have sex by 14 per cent.
