PTC stock gains after release of preliminary earnings info

Software company PTC Inc.'s shares rose in after-hours trading Wednesday after the company released some preliminary earnings information. PTC announced that executives now expect fiscal third-quarter results to show a 9% gain in annual recurring revenue, and "double-digit revenue and free cash flow year-over-year growth." Analysts had been expecting annual recurring revenue to increase about 7.4%, and revenue to increase about 12.5%, according to FactSet. Shares gained more than 3% in extended trading immediately following the announcement, after closing the regular session with a 2.5% gain at $78.50. The company expects to reveal full results on July 29.
