Harry Potter: Which Member of The Order of the Phoenix Are You Based On Your Chinese Zodiac Type?

0

The Order of the Phoenix is one of the most important organizations to appear in the Harry Potter franchise. In both its original incarnation and in its resurgence, it plays a major role in the defeat of Voldemort and his Death Eaters. It’s no accident that these men and women are also some of the most heroic characters to have appeared in fantasy fiction, and the fact that several of them actually die in the course of the story makes them all the more exemplary.

Viewers wishing to gain a more nuanced appreciation of these characters and their psychology should think about them through the lens of the Chinese zodiac. So which character would you be, based on Chinese zodiac sign?

12 Rat - Bill Weasley

Though he doesn’t appear very often in the film adaptations, Bill Weasley still makes quite an impression. After all, he is the kind of guy who, despite following the rules at Hogwarts, proves that he also likes adventure.

Like the rest of the family, he seems to possess an innate kindness, as shown both in his relationship with Fleur and in his support for Harry during the fateful events of the last film.

11 Ox- Minerva McGonagall

Despite her tart tongue and intolerance for incompetence, it’s not hard to see why Professor McGonagall has long been a favorite among fans.

After all, what’s not to love about a character who is portrayed by none other than Maggie Smith, one of the most talented actresses of her generation? In both her book and film incarnations, McGonagall shows herself to be a tremendously strong woman, determined to protect both her students and the school.

10 Tiger- Sirius Black

Even in a series known for inspiring fan loyalty, Sirius Black is something else. As one of the few links that Harry has with his deceased family, Sirius is very much the father that he never had.

There’s no question that Sirius, like almost every other Gryffindor the reader meets, is tremendously brave. However, this often lands him in more than a bit of trouble, and his overconfidence is in some ways his own undoing.

9 Rabbit- Kingsley Shacklebolt

Kingsley Shacklebolt is one of those characters that largely exists in the background of the main story. However, as events soon prove, he is one of the most valuable and competent members of the Order of the Phoenix.

It’s precisely his innate sense of responsibility, and his ability to follow through on the promises that he makes to others, that makes him such a natural choice for Minister of Magic (which he becomes in the years after the novel ends).

8 Dragon- James Potter

James Potter is another character that largely occupies the background of the story. However, he has a tremendous impact on events, and not just because he’s Harry’s father. The reader learns that he was one of the key members of the Order of the Phoenix in its first incarnation.

However, it has to be said that his confidence and intelligence were also his greatest weaknesses, as they inspired a certain cruel streak in his nature.

7 Snake- Albus Dumbledore

For much of the series, Dumbledore was a bit of an enigma. While he was indisputably Harry’s benefactor and one of the leaders of the fight against Voldemort in both the past and the present, there was a great deal about him that was left to the reader’s imagination.

However, there was no doubt that Dumbledore was also one of the biggest characters in the entire series and thus a major part of Harry’s maturation into an adult.

6 Horse - Mad-Eye Moody

There’s no other character quite like Mad-Eye. He’s a man who doesn’t have a lot of patience with anyone who doesn’t adhere to his rigorous standards of behavior (but of course, it’s worth pointing out that for quite a while he was actually imprisoned by the younger Barty Crouch).

However, his subsequent appearances in the films show that he is indeed one of the most formidable people that are determined to oppose Voldemort and everything that he stands for.

5 Goat- Molly Weasley

Although many of the books and films focus on the encroaching darkness represented by Voldemort and the Death Eaters, there are times when they show the brightness. There’s no question that Mrs. Weasley is one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise.

Her love for her own children and for all of those that come under her care is truly exemplary, and when she strikes down the malevolent Bellatrix Lestrange, it’s a moment worth cheering.

4 Monkey- Severus Snape

Severus Snape is one of the most controversial of the members of the Order of the Phoenix, and it’s not hard to see why, given his own original allegiance to Voldemort.

However, despite the fact that he can be incredibly unpleasant to anyone who he sees as beneath him (particularly Harry himself), there’s no question that Snape is also fiercely intelligent and curious about the world, and he is a fine wizard in his own right.

3 Rooster - Arthur Weasley

While Mrs. Weasley is the mother that everyone ever wanted, Mr. Weasley is the father that everyone desired. Time and again throughout the novels, he’s shown himself to not only be a devoted father, but also a passionate defender of Muggles.

In fact, he has an absolute fascination with everything having to do with Muggles, with some very hilarious results.

2 Dog - Nymphadora Tonks

Tonks is another of those characters from this universe that has gathered quite the following. It's not surprising though, since Tonks just seems like a lovely person, the kind of individual that one can turn to in a time of crisis.

It’s no wonder, then, that she gets into a relationship with Remus Lupin, one of the other most charming and kind-hearted members of the Order of the Phoenix.

1 Pig - Remus Lupin

Remus, like his future wife Tonks, is another fan favorite. That’s not a huge surprise, given the fact that he immediately takes Harry under his wing once he becomes the instructor for Defense Against the Dark Arts.

It is, perhaps, because he suffers from being a werewolf that he takes such pains to make sure that Harry feels supported during some of the most trying times of his years at Hogwarts.
