Tottenham player ratings – Ndombele bright and Lloris makes big late save against Bournemouth
Tottenham failed to muster up a single attempt on target as Jose Mourinho’s men were held to a goalless drew at relegation-threatened Bournemouth.
The Cherries thought they’d won it late on when Callum Wilson acrobatically volleyed past Hugo Lloris, but VAR came to Spurs’ rescue – adjudging the ball came off Joshua King’s arm and therefore disallowed it.
Here’s how every Spurs player rated on the night.
Hugo Lloris, 7 – Relatively quiet evening before making a huge late save to deny Harry Wilson in stoppage-time to record his second consecutive clean sheet.
Serge Aurier, 4 – Once again poor. A few shaky moments defensively and his crossing was absolutely shocking.
Toby Alderweireld, 7 – Hardly surprising that Tottenham haven’t conceded since the Belgian returned to the side and he looked comfortable throughout here.
Jan Vertonghen, 7 – A real solid performance on his return to the starting XI. Must start against Arsenal.
Ben Davies, 5 – Untroubled defensively, but not enough quality going forward.
Moussa Sissoko, 4 – Never stopped running, but that was it.
Harry Winks, 5 – Uncharacteristically sloppy on the ball.
Giovani Lo Celso, 4 – His worst game in a Tottenham shirt and was deservedly hooked for Ndombele at the break.
Steven Bergwijn, 3 – Offered nothing.
Erik Lamela, 3 – Conceded a number of needless free-kicks and was painfully slow when in good attacking positions.
Harry Kane, 4 – Should have been awarded a penalty early on, but contributed nothing after that.
Substitutes
Tanguy Ndombele 6, – Tottenham improved from the moment he entered the fray, but his passing in the final-third was poor and was unable to create anything clear-cut.
Heung Min Son, 3 – His woeful form since the restart continued with another lacklustre display.
Lucas Moura, 4 – Energetic.
Gedson Fernandes, N/A – Replaced Aurier late on.
