Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled for Arsenal from the spot just before half time.
But any hopes Pulisic had of being the Cup hero were ended within seconds of the restart.
He raced clear on goal almost instantly following the break but grimaced in agony as he went to pull the trigger.
The ex-Dortmund ace’s weak effort rolled wide of the target as he crumpled to the floor before he was eventually helped off after hurting his hamstring.

Amazingly, that was the SECOND Chelsea player to be forced off with a hamstring injury.
Captain Cesar Azpilicueta broke down in tears as he was helped off moments after giving away the penalty.
The double whammy will not only cause concern for boss Frank Lampard as he attempts to win his first piece of silverware as manager.
Hamstring injuries usually rule players out for around six weeks and that means the pair will be extremely doubtful for their upcoming Champions League clash at Bayern Munich.
They could also be struggling to be at full fitness when the new season kicks-off on September 12.
