Netflix’s original film Desperados is one of the sweetest and most interesting movies of this year. The movie is about a young woman, Wesley Darya, who finds herself in an exciting new relationship. Unfortunately, her boyfriend, Jared, gets injured and loses all ability to contact her while he is hospitalized. Wesley thinks that she has been ghosted and she sends him a horribly cruel message. Once she finds out that he was never actually ghosting her, Wesley embarks on a wild adventure with her friends to try to block Jared from ever seeing the message.

10 Nasim Pedrad & Lamorne Morris Aren't New To Playing Onscreen Lovers

In a video interview with Manny the Movie Guy, Nasim Pedrad talked about reuniting with and working with her former co-star Lamorne Morris. They starred on New Girl together. She said, "When I found out that Lamorne might be able to do it, it was such a no-brainer. There is truly no one better to work with. I have so much fun with him and I would do anything with him."

The onscreen between Nasim Pedrad and Lamorne Morris is undeniable and clear to anyone who has seen them on camera together. In New Girl, they played the role of a couple we were all rooting for.

9 Nasim Pedrad Read The First Draft Of The Script A Decade Ago

According to Cinema Blend, Nasim Pedrad admitted that the first time she laid eyes on the script for Desperados was about ten years ago. She revealed that the script was a lot different ten years ago. Plenty of changes and edits were made to the plot, storyline, and dialogue to get the movie to what it amounted to.

A decade is a long time in the scheme of things. When it comes to Hollywood and the processes behind filming new entertainment and media, it makes sense for directors and executives to take their time and ensure that a project is going to turn out exactly the way they want it to.

8 Anna Camp's Last Day Shooting Desperados Was Filled With Improv

According to PopSugar, Anna Camp said, "The last day on set was a night shoot for me. We were at the resort in Cabo, and it was the scene where we throw the water on Wesley, and she's running around in the towel. It was so good to go out on a fun, high note. I remember LP, the director, was just telling us to improv things, and Sarah Burns and I improved that high five where we missed each other."

She continued saying, "I think I wrapped around maybe 3 in the morning or something like that. It was super fun, and we had a blast." Working with fun castmates must have made the entire movie filming experience so much more enjoyable for Camp.

7 Nasim Pedrad Revealed That Quite A Bit Of CGI Was Used

In Desperados, viewers are able to lay eyes on a few scenes involving dolphins. One of the funniest scenes in the movie focuses on Nasim Pedrad's character on a boat hanging out with a guy she is slightly interested in. She ends up accidentally getting smacked in the face by an aggressive dolphin. Naturally, it totally shocks her.

The entire movie is hilarious but when viewers recount which scene from the film made them laugh the hardest, the dolphin scene is probably the first one that would get mentioned. CGI was used in order to make this scene come to life so no animals were harmed in the process.

6 Anna Camp Admits She Used A Blow Dryer For Her Lashes On Set

Anna Camp revealed a beauty tip from the set of Desperados. She said, "I was always kind of scared to do this, but then my makeup artist would do it on set of Desperados, where you have a blow dryer and you hold it near your eyelash curler. Not right on it, but you kind of heat it up. So now I do that every time I curl my lashes — it makes them curl even better." (PopSugar.)

Anna Camp is a genuine beauty so any great beauty tips from her will come in handy. Who would have ever considered using a blow dryer when attaching false lashes?

5 Sarah Burns Says Desperados Isn't Raunchy For The Sake Of Being Raunchy

Sometimes when filmmakers are bringing a new movie to life, they add over-the-top jokes that are beyond unnecessary. Some jokes and storylines do nothing but make viewers uncomfortable and annoyed. In Desperados, there isn't really much of that. In her interview with Cinema Blend, Sarah Burns revealed that that raunchiness was added to Desperados at the right amount.

Desperados definitely pushes the boundaries of what is appropriate, but it doesn't go overboard by making viewers wonder why certain things are being said or done. This movie keeps it classy for the most part, minus anything way too raunchy.

4 Robbie Amell Signed On To Be In Desperados Early On

Robbie Amell is arguably one of the more well-known actors on the lineup for Desperados. He agreed to be part of the film in March of 2019 at the same time as both Anna Camp and Jason Mitchell. Having Amell in the film made the movie better and more enjoyable because he has such a likable and charming way about him. It is easy to watch him act in different TV shows and movies.

Some of Amell's other projects include Amazon Prime Video's Upload as well as The Flash, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and The X-Files reboot. He has a lot going on for him within his acting career.

3 The Filming Of Desperados Took Place In Mexico City

Being able to film a movie in a beautiful location is a perk that comes with being an actor. For Nasim Pedrad, Lamorne Morris, Anna Camp, Robbie Amell, Heather Graham, and Sarah Burns, filming Despardos was no exception. This team of actors got to pack up and go to Mexico City to shoot the film, which means that they got to experience some beautiful backdrops and vacation-style vibes.

Mexico City has a tropical look to it. In most scenes from the film, audiences got to watch the main cast performing in front of gorgeous scenery. The other main filming location for Desperados was in Los Angeles, Calfornia.

2 In Its First Weekend, Desperados Was The 2nd-Most Streamed Film On Netflix

It is a huge deal when movies on Netflix do well in terms of streaming. A lot of avid Netflix subscribers gobble up new TV shows and movies as soon as they drop to the streaming network but only if those TV shows and movies are worth watching. When it comes to Desperados, Netflix subscribers surely knew that they liked what they saw as soon as they pressed "play." The storyline was adorable and sweet making the movie an easy one to watch right away.

During its first weekend alone, Desperados was the second most-streamed film on the entire site. That means that plenty of subscribers were happily tuning in and that a whole lot of people were enjoying it.

1 Lamorne Morris Enjoyed Playing A Charming Character In Desperados

During his interview with Cinema Blend, Lamorne Morris admitted that he enjoyed playing a character that was more charming and suave. A lot of his fans recognize him as being sort of a dorky and awkward guy from his time starring on New Girl. The character he played on New Girl, Winston Bishop, is very different than the character he plays on Desperados, Sean McGuire.

Lamorne Morris is not the type of actor who should ever be typecast into one type of role. He is such a diverse guy with so much to offer and the roles he can play are limitless. He can easily slip into roles of a charming gentleman, a nerdy friend, or the perfect romantic partner for a female lead.
