She Hulk's Greatest Villain Was Created By Doctor Doom

0

Experienced superhero lawyer Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk may be the cousin of Bruce Banner, but that doesn't restrict Walters from having her own personal rogues gallery of villains. However, the most recurring of Jen's villains was surprisingly set on a path to wreak havoc by another premiere Marvel Comics' villain... Doctor Doom.

Before becoming the nemesis for Jennifer Walters, Titania was known as Mary "Skeeter" Macpherran, an abnormally small Denver girl prematurely born into an extended family of siblings. While her fellow siblings and classmates would inevitably reach their full growth potential, Mary would remain a small individual, both inside and out. The only sense of escape Mary would have from her mundane lifestyle would be in fantasy tales before eventually confiding in friend Marsha Rosenberg.

During her teenage years, Mary would become fixated with the fantasy of comic books but more significantly the prospect of becoming a super-being herself, which was even more of an assurance than buying a winning lottery ticket. While attending a lavish ball with Marsha, Mary and the occupants of the ball along with the entire population of Denver would be lifted into outer space by the infinitely powerful cosmic being known only as The Beyonder. Landing on the alien arena planet of Battleworld, Doctor Doom would come into contact with the misplaced teenagers Mary and Marsha. As Doom would ultimately prey on the girl's desire for strength, both Mary and Marsha become willing test subjects for the Latverian dictator's latest gesture of power.

Transporting the cosmic energies of Battleworld into his Doombase fortress' power amplifying machine containing Mary and Marsha, Doctor Doom's newest faithful champion in Mary would be reborn as the unbelievably strong Titania while Marsha would become the plasma-based Volcana. Titania as well as Volcana would prove instrumental in Doom's ultimate offense against the various superheroes and even supervillains that were currently occupying Battleworld. However, one of the select few superheroes that proved a match for Titania's newfound strength was the equally powerful She-Hulk.

Following Battleworld and the massive Secret Wars event, Titania would develop an obsession with besting She-Hulk as a result of her prior defeat by Walter's hands. While Mary would continue to increase her strength by training extensively, each defeat delivered by She-Hulk would send Mary back to the sorrowful state occupied before gaining her incredible powers. She-Hulk will normally be ready for Titania, but Doctor Doom truly paved the way for a persistent form of threat that will inevitably get the better of her green-skinned foe.
