Jack Ryan Season 2 Deleted Scene Sets Up Season 3 [EXCLUSIVE]
A deleted scene from season 2 of Amazon Prime Video's Jack Ryan TV series sets up the possible storyline of season 3, Screen Rant can exclusively debut. John Krasinski started playing the Tom Clancy CIA agent in 2018 when the first season of Jack Ryan began streaming. The Amazon original series became a big part of the service's future before season one even debuted, as a second season was announced prior to air.
Season 2 of Jack Ryan was released on Amazon in 2019 and received generally positive reviews. Krasinski returned as the titular character, while Noomi Rapace joined the cast in a major new role as Harriett "Harry" Baumann. Even though the season finale left the story of season 3 up in the air, Amazon gave Jack Ryan an early renewal once again. Many were even more excited to see where the show goes after season 2, which is now available to purchase on Blu-Ray and DVD. The home release includes bonus materials that were not available on Amazon.
With the home release of Jack Ryan season 2, Screen Rant can provide an exclusive look at a pivotal deleted scene that is included on the Blu-Ray and DVD releases. The scene comes from the season 2 finale, "Strongman," and shows Jack visit the office of James Greer (Wendell Pierce). After the events of season 2, the deleted scene comes from the very end of the episode, with Greer offering Ryan a chance to lead a special team he's assembling.
The tease of Greer putting together a team is very similar to what happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to form the Avengers. Based on this scene, fans of Jack Ryan might be able to expect the mysterious team Greer is building to be a key part season 3. Meanwhile, the smirk that Ryan has at the very end indicates he's quite interested in taking the job. There is a potential caveat to this team still being part of Jack Ryan's future, though, since season 3 will have a new showrunner. It's possible Paul Scheuring (Prison Break) has a different plan for the story than former showrunner Carlton Cuse, which could explain why this is a deleted scene instead of a season 2 tag to set up season 3.
After the changing of the guard for Jack Ryan, details on season 3 have been difficult to come by. This is why some might hope that the deleted scene accurately sets up next season. If it does, it will be fascinating to see if any of Ryan's teammates are other characters from Tom Clancy's novels. After all, Amazon recently acquired the rights to Without Remorse, a Tom Clancy movie starring Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, so they are going all-in on Clancy's works after Jack Ryan's success. Fans of the show can find this deleted scene and more on the Blu-Ray and DVD copies of season 2, which are now on sale - in addition to both seasons streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN Season Two is available on Blu-ray and DVD.
