Animaniacs Reboot Releases On Hulu In November 2020 | Screen Rant
More than 20 years after its original run, Animaniacs is returning to television with Hulu this fall. The manic cartoon variety show from Amblin Entertainment, which ran just shy of a neat 100 episodes between 1995 and 1998, starred the three fictional "Warner Children," Wakko, Yakko, and Dot and their misadventures on the WB lot. A series reboot was announced two years ago, but now Hulu has confirmed the reboots release date.
The first 13-episode season will premiere on Hulu November 20th, with a second season (also consisting of 13 episodes) already slated for some time in 2021. Returning along with the Warner siblings will be the beloved duo of Pinky and the Brain, who once earned their own spinoff for their charmingly evil antics. The majority of the voice cast will also be reprising their roles for the reboot.
Returning to executive produce is Amblin founder Steven Spielberg, with the revival being produced by Amblin Television in association with Warner Brothers Animation. Amblin TV co-presidents Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey will join, as well as president of Warner Brothers Animation Sam Register.
At the time of its official ending with the TV film Wakko's Wish, Animaniacs had become wildly popular and critically lauded, winning a Peabody Award as well as a staggering 10 Daytime Emmy Awards in its relatively short run. Its colorful brand of humor and lovable cast heavily influenced the next generation of animated television, and after 22 years will have a chance to do so again.
