Man City 2 Real Madrid 1 (agg 4-2): Varane horror show sees Sterling and Jesus fire Citizens into quarter-finals
TWO Raphael Varane howlers gifted Man City a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Real Madrid defender was robbed by Gabriel Jesus for the first, who found Raheem Sterling in the ninth minute.
Karim Benzema did level in the 28th minute at the Etihad to give the Spaniards hope.
But World Cup winner Varane was to blame again for City’s second.
His tame header back to Thibaut Courtois was pounced on by Jesus who scored from a cute angle in the 68th minute.
