Bachelorette: Everything We Know About Dale Moss, Clare Crawley's Fiance
Clare Crawley leaving The Bachelorette has been highly publicized, but who is her fiancé, Dale Moss? Here’s everything we know about him.
Clare’s exit from The Bachelorette was announced earlier this week. She reportedly quit the show after just 12 days of filming because she had already found love. It was soon revealed that she was engaged to Dale Moss, a contestant on the show. There are rumors flying that Dale and Clare were talking online during the three month delay of filming due to the coronavirus pandemic. After Clare’s resignation, Tayshia Adams is reportedly taking over the lead as Bachelorette. However, Hannah Ann Sluss and former Bachelorette Becca Kufrin have both been spotted at La Quinta resort in Palm Springs, California where The Bachelorette is being filmed. Becca Kufrin’s breakup with fiancé Garrett Yrigoyen was just announced today, so it’s possible that she may be on her second journey for love.
Clare Crawley’s fiancé, Dale Moss, is quite a catch. A former football player, he is also a global ambassador for Special Olympics. According to his bio on the Special Olympics’ website, the South Dakota native started his sports career with a basketball scholarship to South Dakota State University. He played only one year of football in college before being drafted to the Green Bay Packers as a wide receiver. Dale also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears before ending his football career. Post football, Dale has dabbled in the entertainment industry before going on The Bachelorette. He is currently a model signed with Wilhemina Models, and hosted a podcast called The Game Plan With Dale Moss from 2018 to 2019. He is also known for his philanthropy. Dale became involved with the Special Olympics because his older sister, Amber Moss, has an intellectual and physical disability. She participated in the Special Olympics as a child, and Dale was inspired by the change in how the community saw her after they saw her play sports. According to his website, he has also worked with the Tiger Woods Foundation, the Wounded Warriors Project and NFL Play 60.
Dale’s personal life has been kept more quiet than his career pursuits. He has three sisters in total, and has spoken about growing up bi-racial in a conservative community. His family settled in the small town Brandon, South Dakota, where the population was about 500 people. In an interview with Odyssey, he said, “My dad is black and my mom is white so we dealt with a lot of racial tension. My mom’s side of the family disowned her for marrying a black man.” Dale went on to explain that their neighbors disapproval of his family was very hard for his father. He turned to sports for fun, and learned basketball from his mother, who played in high school and college. While he was in college, his mother had a major health scare but survived due to a liver transplant. “It opened my eyes and made me realize that there is more out there and God has a plan for all of us.”
Dale’s most significant previous relationship was with professional golfer, Seema Sadekar. Although the exact length of their relationship is unknown, it has been reported that the couple was serious. An insider told Life & Style, “When it comes to girls, she’s the one he would talk about the most.” Clare has also had plenty of serious relationships, so this may not be a bad thing. Although the relationship is new, the couple was ready to quit The Bachelorette for love; we’ll have to see where it goes from here.
