The Canada Council offers two architecture prizes
The Canada Council for the Arts is offering two architecture prizes — The J. B. C. Watkins Award: Architecture and Ronald J. Thom Award for Early Design Achievement, to recognize achievements from students and practitioners, or boost international studies.
The J.B.C. Watkins Award: Architecture is offered to a Canadian architectural student wishing to pursue postgraduate studies outside Canada, ideally in Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Iceland. Architecture graduates of a Canadian university, postsecondary art institution or training school can apply for this annual $5,000 scholarship by October 1,2020.
Established in 1990, friends and colleagues of Ronald J. Thom created the Ronald J. Thom Award for Early Design Achievement in collaboration with the Canada Council for the Arts.
The $10,000 prize is given to a practitioner of architecture or an architectural firm. The successful candidate must be in the early stages of a career or practice and must demonstrate both outstanding creative talent and exceptional potential in architectural design.
More information about the J. B. C. Watkins Award: Architecture is available here. Submissions for the J and Ronald J. Thom Award for Early Design Achievement, can also be found here.
