Maulini takes First Le Mans Cup Pole For Cool Racing
Nicolas Maulini put the #37 Cool Racing Ligier on top of the timesheets in the quick fire qualifying session at Spa – with the thermometer on the race control tower showing 38 degrees the £37s 2:15.410 was eventually just over half a second clear of newest challenger Moritz Kranz in the #21 Muehlner Motorsport Duqueine.
Nicolas Mellin had led the field briefly but he’d finish the session third fastest in the #11 racing Experience D08 ahead of defender Champion Jean Glorieux in another Duqueine, this time the #3 DKR Engineering car.
Rino Mastronardi dominated the GT3 qualifying session, his 2:22.882 in the #8 Iron Lynx Ferrari over a second clear of the best effort of Michael Broniszewski in the #74 Kessel car with Claudio Schiavoni a further 2 seconds adrift in the #77 Iron Lynx car.
