Albuquerque Tops Free Practice 1
Filipe Albuquerque posted the fastest time in the first 90 minute ELMS Free Practice session at Spa Francorchamps in 30 degree plus temperatures in the Ardennes.
The Portuguese star took the #22 United Autosports ORECA 07 around in 2:03.456, four-tenths clear of Ben Hanley’s best effort in the #21 DragonSpeed car with Richard Bradley third fastest in the #28 IDEC Sport Oreca a further 2 tenths away.
Fourth fastest was Anthony Davidson in the #38 Jota car, fastest of the Goodyear runners.
LMP3 saw yet another ELMS session headed by Wayne Boyd in the #2 United Ligier JS P320, 2:13.332, six tenths ahead of the #4 DKR Duqueine of Laurents Hörr with David Droux’s #8 RealTeam Ligier third and Malthe Jakobsen in the #15 RLR Sport Ligier fourth fastest.
GTE saw the session headed by Michele Beretta in the #77 Proton Competition Porsche 911RSR – 2”19.180 just under four tenths clear of Rahel Frey in the #83 Iron Lynx Ferrari 488 GTE with Richard Lietz three tenths further back in the #93 Proton Porsche.
Bronze Driver Test
The 60 minute Bronze Test in the afternoon saw the #25 Algarve Pro ORECA top the times with a 2:08.078, John Falb well clear of Dennis Anderson’s best effort in the #20 High Class Racing 07.
In LMP3 it was Jean Glorieux in the #4 DKR Duqueine who went fastest, a 2:16.419 three tenths up on Rob Wheldon’s #2 United Ligier.
GTE saw three men in the 2:20s, Christoph Ulrich heading the session with a 2:20.041 in the #51 Ferrari ahead of Duncan Cameron in the #55 and Paul Dalla Lana in the #98 Aston Martin.
