Babysitter offered to care for girl, 4, – ‘then repeatedly molested her while mother was at work’

A babysitter offered to care for a friend’s children while she was at work, then molested the woman’s four year-old daughter, it is claimed. Braxton Upshaw, 19, is accused of targeting the youngster multiple times at her home in Tallahassee, Florida, between August and October 2019.

The girl told her mother that Upshaw had inappropriately touched her in October last year, prompting the horrified parent to call police, WTXL reported. During a subsequent police interview, the four year-old told police: ‘He just hurts me all the time.’

The girl’s mother – who had one other child Upshaw cared for – reported that the suspected pedophile was ‘very anxious’ to leave on the day her daughter made the allegation against him.

Upshaw was then interviewed by police, and is said to have declared that police would not find any samples of his DNA on his alleged victim. He also denied the accusations made against him.

Police issued a warrant for Upshaw’s arrest in April, and he was arrested Sunday. The suspected pedophile has been charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a child under 12, and is being held in jail without bond.
