Salisbury Races: Tips, racecards, odds and betting preview for Sunday’s racing live on ITV
SUNNY Salisbury welcomes the ITV cameras on Sunday afternoon.
Four races come under the microscope, and why the field sizes may be a tad disappointing, there are a few betting opportunities to be had. Callum Jamieson takes a look.

Race 3 – 1.40 Mildren Construction Wateraid Conditions Stakes
Only four runners to kick the day off and it is a real puzzle. No doubt it will get tactical.
None of the four like to go forward, but with Lord Tennyson a keen type, jockey Rab Havlin may have no choice in this small field.
He’s shown little in his last two runs and has plenty to prove, even at this level.
The one I want to side with – only just – is Richard Hannon’s ANNA NERIUM.
She’s been disappointing for the past couple of seasons, will still throwing in the odd big run. But she returned with plenty of promise last time at Goodwood and why she’s not certain to build on that, if she does, she should win this with the 5lbs allowance.
It’ll be small stakes and price dependent, but she’s my tentative nod.
Tip Two Win is hard to trust with your hard-earned cash, while Happy Power may be happier with some give in the ground.
TENTATIVE NOD: Anna Nerium
Race 4 – 2.15 AJN Steelstock / Pam Bruford Memorial Handicap
There are plenty of reliable old faces in this sprint, none more so than top-weight Caspian Prince.
You can bet he’ll go hard from the off and pin his ears back. His style probably doesn’t suit this track though and he may help set it up for one or two others.
Tone The Barone has to be respected off the back of his Ascot win. A 6lbs rise throws him up to a mark of 89 though. Only five runs ago he was rated 68.
It’s the bottom weight POETS DANCE that makes most appeal. She steps back up in class, but has only been raised 4lbs for her Yarmouth win.
This is tougher but there could be more improvement to come and she gets weight as a three-year-old.
Rae Guest’s fillies continue to go well and she can take another jump forward here.
If it turns into a real tear-up, it could be Mr Kiki that takes advantage.
SELECTION: Poets Dance
Don't miss the best of Sun Racing
Race 5 – 2.50 AJN Steelstock Steel Processors British EBF Fillies’ Handicap
The class act in this field should simply be too good.
SALAYEL has to give plenty of weight away to her three rivals, but her ability should see her home.
She drops markedly in class, and either of her last two efforts should be enough to take this handicap.
The danger has to be Brian Meehan’s One Small Step on handicap debut. She’s completely unexposed after two efforts, but hasn’t been given the easiest of tasks by the handicapper.
Separate and Indie Angel look up against it.
SELECTION: Salayel
Race 6 – 3.25 AJN Steelstock Sovereign Stakes (Group 3)
Sunday’s feature looks a strong renewal and the stiff mile should be to DUKE OF HAZZARD’S liking.
Hes yet to truly build on last year’s promise, but has hinted at a win and his Summer Mile run was a positive two starts back.
He found Space Blues too sharp in the Lennox and this should be more to his liking.
The ground will suit and this is probably the easiest race he’s faced all season – if only just.
Positive is interesting dropped in class. He gets blinkers on for the first time and any improvement on his run in the St James’s Palace will see him go close.
Marie’s Diamond will likely be the pace angle. He may find it hard to cut out the running here though.
Motakhayyel has a bit to prove over a stiff mile while Regal Reality is running out of excuses.
