Pep Guardiola ‘is Juventus’ No 1 choice to replace sacked Sarri’ but Pochettino, Allegeri and Inzaghi all in frame
PEP GUARDIOLA is rated Juventus’ top target to replace sacked Maurizio Sarri – with Mauricio Pochettino the main alternative.
Former Chelsea boss Sarri went less than 24 hours after a shock Champions League KO against Lyon, despite giving Juve their ninth successive Serie A title in his only season in charge.
Now the Old Lady will renew their interest in Manchester City chief Guardiola.
Having tried last summer, Juventus were reportedly lining the ex-Barcelona chief up for this close season as long ago as February.
But with City since winning their appeal against a Euro ban, it seems Guardiola is even more embedded at the Etihad.
Previous Juve manager Max Allegri and Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi have been mentioned – but Pochettino will surely be judged the favourite.
Reports in Italy claim Juventus have already contacted the Argentine, who was surprisingly axed as Tottenham chief last November.
Pochettino has been biding his time over a return to management.

And any hopes he had of the Manchester United job subsided dramatically after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men clicked in the second half of the season, rising to a third-place finish in the Premier League.
The Old Lady earlier said: “Juventus Football Club announces that Maurizio Sarri has been relieved of his post as coach of the First Team.
“The club would like to thank the coach for having written a new page in Juventus’ history with the victory of the ninth-consecutive championship, the culmination of a personal journey that led him to climb all the divisions of Italian football.”
