How To Level Up Skills in Arknights (The Fast Way) | Screen Rant
Arknights is China’s premier gacha style tower defense game. Its random character recruitment will be very familiar to fans of other mobile games like Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, including the tactical spin-off War of Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Even the fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus is based off a gacha series. Now, Arknights has gone global, allowing players around the world to recruit heroes codenamed and based around military operations.
Some Operators are granted skills to help them attack enemies and defend the objective. As players embark on harder missions, they will need to upgrade and become stronger in order to deal with the onslaught of powerful enemies. Thankfully, there are several systems for advancement.
Skills are exclusive to Three Star Operators and above. One and Two Stars will never gain skills to improve their direct combat performance. While most skills are decent to begin with, they can be further upgraded with Skill Summary manuals. The first volume can drop randomly in story episode 1-10. Higher volumes can be acquired by completing Aerial Threat (CA) operations available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. These are tough missions against flying enemies, meaning one cannot use melee Operators. It is best to only attempt the higher CA missions once having a strong team of full level 50+ Elites. This party should include a diverse array of different classes like Snipers, Casters, Support, and Medics.
Additionally, to gain skill levels 5 and above Operators will need to have been promoted to Elite status. This requires Chips dropped from daily Chip operations (PR) and materials of grade T2-T5. Different class-related operations are unlocked on different days of the week:
- Monday: Defender, Medic, Sniper, Caster
- Tuesday: Sniper, Caster
- Wednesday: Vanguard, Supporter, Guard, Specialist
- Thursday: Defender, Medic, Vanguard, Supporter
- Friday: Defender, Medic, Sniper, Caster, Guard, Specialist
- Saturday: All classes
- Sunday: Vanguard, Supporter, Guard, Specialist
Each skill upgrade level changes depending on the Operator’s star rank:

Operators ranked four, five, and six stars can go beyond level 7 skills with Mastery. To do so players will need to first build a Training Room in their complex. To build the initial facility one will need to already have a Power Plant, Factory, Trading Post, Workshop, Human Resources, and two Light Building Materials (along with the five made for the previous rooms). The Training Room can be upgraded with 160 Drones found from cleaning rooms, six Concrete Building Materials, and ten Reinforced Building Materials. They will also need to have a level 4 Control Center, which requires 240 Drones, three Keel from story episodes, four more Light Building Materials, four Concrete Building Materials, and eight other rooms refurbished to level 2.

- Level 1: Two Skill Summary 3, various T3 and T4 materials, level 60 and promotion, 8 hours in Training Room level 1

Additionally, some Operators can act as trainers reducing the required time based on the trainee’s class. Most trainers already start with this bonus, while others gain them after promoting to Elite 1 or Elite 2.
As noted, materials are required for both upgrading skills and promoting to Elite 1 and Elite 2. Materials can drop as rewards from story episodes, typically high-level ones. Also, they can be bought with three types of currency: Credits for T1 and T2 materials, Qualification Certificates for T3, and Advanced Certificates for T4. Credits are awarded based on the quality of constructed Dormitory rooms, up to 50 credits a day per room. Certifications are compensation for recruiting duplicate Operators; Qualification Certificates if they are 1-4 star, and Advanced Certificates for 5-6 star rank.
Old and unwanted materials can also be upgraded to other tiers via the Workshop and use of formulas. This is a more consistent and fast way of getting materials than grinding missions repeatedly. Some Operators will even create byproducts, lower grade materials as a sort of refund. However, each use of the Workshop drains Morale and will eventually require the Operator to rest in the Dormitory. Materials can be built in this fashion:
- Skill Summary 2: 3 Skills Summary 1
- Skill Summary 3: 3 Skill Summary 2
- Device: 3 Damaged Device
- Polyketon: 3 Diketon
- Oriron: 3 Oriron Shards
