Sonja blames her 'Drunken Sailor Syndrome' on her water pills.
On last night's 200th episode of the Real Housewives of New York, the Housewives celebrated Sonja Morgan's birthday in Cancun and shockingly it was rather tame (in a good way!) for the RHONY and not the usual drunken, rageful, screaming, obnoxious "declasse" we have come to know this season. The girls classed it up and reeled it in, with some good ole fashioned fun, without overdoing it. Yes, there was some tequila drinking but not too much. Sonja made the revelation that the reason she has been getting so out of control drunk is because she had been mixing her prescribed water pills with drinking. She researched and discovered that diuretics + drinking = a phenomenon called "drunken sailor syndrome." Finally, lesson learned. Even Leah didn't over do it.
So, Sonja ditched her water pills and thankfully, did not have a repeat of night #1 in Cancun or her past Miami drunken falling over trip of last year. Even Dorinda noticed this new & improved Sonja mentioning Sonja's was smiling from ear to ear during her bday celebration at Cancun's festive La Parrilla.
On last night's 200th show of Bravo TV's RHONY from their gorgeous Cancun resort 12,000 square ft. villa, Azul Villa Casa Del Mar, Sonja tells Ramona "I just went to take my water pill that I always take & I googled it. This drug gives you drunken sailor syndrome if you mix it with alcohol." Sonja admitted "The 1st night of a girls trip I'm always a crazy person. Eureka. Of course I'm walking like a drunken sailor. I couldn't figure out what was going on until Ramona and I reviewed my prescription. It's the diuretic. Hello." Ramona then threw away the evidence. Out with old. In with Sonja 2.0.
Let's hope Sonja sets a good example for all the girls. Perhaps Sonja is finally ready to turn a page. Things are definitely looking up for her with her Sonja Morgan by Sonja Morgan New York Collection fashion clothing line, now being sold at the Century 21 stores. We've also seen Sonja recently looking fabulous on all her confessionals and also with Andy Cohen on a recent Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live appearance.
Lets hope all the girls have great updates to share and are living their best lives, despite the pandemic, on the upcoming in person Real Housewives of New York reunion!
