Report reveals details of Tottenham’s plot to sign Gareth Bale on loan from Madrid
Football Insider has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a loan move for Gareth Bale this summer.
There has been plenty of speculation over the years about a possible return to Spurs for the Welshman but a move has never quite materialised.
Football Insider reveal that Tottenham failed with offers for Bale over the last two summers and could once again make a play for his signature this year.
The 31-year-old has struggled for game time in the Spanish capital and has cut a disinterested figure on the sidelines of late.
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane admitted that the winger told him he preferred not to play in the Champions League clash against Manchester City this week.
It is claimed that Spurs are monitoring Bale’s situation at Madrid closely and are prepared to offer him an exit route.
The report asserts that the Lilywhites will make a loan offer for their former star late in the transfer window but any deal would require Los Blancos to pay a significant portion of Bale’s £600,000-a-week wages.

I would not be surprised if Daniel Levy did make a move for Bale late in the window. The Spurs chairman will be hoping that Madrid would be so desperate to get rid of the 31-year-old that they would subsidise his wages. However, there is no indication from Bale’s camp that he wants out of Madrid. He seems quite happy to sit on the sidelines and collect his pay.
