How to Fast Travel in Blasphemous | Screen Rant

0

Blasphemous takes players across a harrowing adventure across Cvstodia and figuring out all the routes can be dizzying. Luckily, there are fast travel points that can be utilized and this guide will explain how to find them.

Developed by The Game Kitchen and released on September 10, 2019, Blasphemous is a gothic tale about a lone warrior tasked on lifting a curse known simply as "The Miracle". Players play as a silent character called "The Pentinet One" who is a survivor of an epic massacre that's called "The Silent Sorrow". With heavy religious undertones, Blasphemous is a Metroidvania style adventure, with a hint of Dark Souls. It encourages players to poke around, explore, and experiment with the various collectibles that are strewn across Cvstodia. Sporting dark, medieval, and vaguely romanesque armor, 'The Pentient One' is only armed with a simple sword and shield. Being a hack and slash game, players start with simple sword attacks and platforming mechanics as they fight various monsters. As the game progresses, players can upgrade attacks and defensive maneuvers for 'The Pentient One' to help work around a myriad of harrowing situations.

On top of that, Blasphemous comes with light RPG mechanics to where players can add beads to 'The Pentient One's' rosary that grants special boosts. The health bar, although small, can be increased with the accumulation of XP and even refilled while on the move with 'Biliary Flasks'. This world is teeming with secrets and even some enigmas to unravel. Thus, there are also certain checkpoints peppered through the game's map that enables players to; refill their flask, upgrade their skills, buy items, and unlock new routes. This game can be dense and unforgiving at times. Running across Cvstodia and battling all the evil that lurks within can be stressful, especially with all the pitfalls and 'instant death' spike pits. Therefore, this game does indeed have fast travel points that players can use. This can be a handy tool in regards to bypassing all the turmoil that awaits players and also save some time.

The way fast travel works in Blasphemous is that players will need to find rooms that have special portals that will need to be activated. They are known as "The Gates of Travel". According to the illustration above, this is how they look and players will need to simply stand in front of them and push the 'interact button' to walk through them. Now, it's important to keep in mind that players can't travel wherever they want. Instead, there are certain key points placed strategically through Cvstodia that basically cuts the journey in half. The following is where players can find the Gates of Travel throughout the map.

Fast Travel Points in Cvstodia:

  • Library of the Negated Words
  • Archcatherdral Rooftops
  • Albero
  • Mercy Dreams
  • Brotherhood of The Silent Sorrow

Obviously, whenever a player fast travels, all the enemies in the new area would have respawned. So, just be sure that's everything is in order before jumping ahead. In most cases, players will find their first fast travel point in the 'Mercy Dreams' area. Walking through this portal will take players back to Albero. If players were lucky enough to unlock alternate paths, then going back to Mercy Dreams (or wherever else) shouldn't be that much of a problem.
