Three million OAP ‘home blockers’ stopping young from buying houses

Three million home-owning pensioners are blocking the way onto the housing ladder for young families, new research reveals today. A quarter of older homeowners aged 65-plus - 3.1m - would like to downsize but feel they have no choice but to stay put.
