Lily, 24, who also teaches music online, said: “I thought, ‘Do you know what? Let’s have a bit of a sing-song outside’.”

The part-time checkout assistant performed in the car park after her shift in her home town of Sandiacre, Derbys.

Shoppers lapped it up and she has done it weekly since, and now her “gigs” have gone viral.

As well as opera, Lily’s repertoire includes Somewhere Over The Rainbow and You Raise Me Up.

She said: “The response has been incredible. I have had so many comments on Facebook and social media I’m quite overwhelmed.

“People have been messaging me from all over the world. From America, Spain and Thailand.

“It has been so lovely as it’s a hard time at the moment.

“I love performing and it’s rather nice to see people’s reactions when they see me singing in my Lidl uniform.”
