Harry Potter: 5 Spells & Charms Libras Would Master (& 5 They Would Fail At)
Not every student at Hogwarts can be Hermione Granger, who could master any spell she put her mind to, so long as it didn't involve conjuring a Patronus. In the Harry Potter universe, there are seemingly endless spells and charms to cast and, obviously, some are easier than others.
Depending on when one is born in the signs of the Zodiac, their abilities for various spells may differ. For example, there are Libras, who are known for their beauty, balance, and hatred of isolation. As such, some spells will be more in tune with a Libra sign personality than others.
10 Master: Nox
Nox is the spell that comes tied to the spell of Lumos. Nox extinguishes the light that emanates from the casting of Lumos, bringing perfect balance to a charm in the wizarding world.
Libras will always excel at spells that are designed in tandem with another. Night and day, dark and light. It's all about balance and Libras have an intuitive sense of balance instilled within them.
9 Fail: Muffliato
Libras also love to socialize and get to know as many people as possible. As such, they'd certainly struggle with Muffliato because the spell is inherently exclusive to others nearby.
Muffliato muffles the conversations held by those who wish it to be kept private. Privacy is valued by all, in some cases, but Muffliato would still require a lot of persistence from Libras if they have any hope of mastering it.
8 Master: Reparo
In addition to balance, Libras adore people who take initiative and do work that helps to mend others and their belongings. This sense of repairing applies directly to Reparo, of course!
Reparo helps to fix broken items, which is exactly the sense of initiative that Libras love. Those who master their craft can help others to improve, even in the face of shattered items. Libras may not master every craft, but Reparo would certainly come easy.
7 Fail: Petrificus Totalus
As remarked upon above, Libras love spending time with others and engaging with friends, new and old alike. There's no way they'd be able to cast Petrificus Totalus intuitively, as a result.
After all, this spell just works to render people immovable. There's no fun or conversation to be had with people who are stuck in one position. Libras would be reluctant to use this spell undoubtedly.
6 Master: Expecto Patronum
Expecto Patronum is a spell that Hermione struggles with in the Harry Potter universe and it's probably because she's just a couple days removed from actually being a Libra. Libras would have no problem with this spell, of course.
The ability to conjure a Patronus is a beautiful act and Libras would be drawn to the artistry that comes from creating an enchanting, ethereal creature. For as intellectual as Libras tend to be (they're connoisseurs of their abilities), sometimes beauty just transcends that.
5 Fail: Stupefy
Libras would fall flat on their face if they tried to cast Stupefy, just like the recipients of the spell tend to do when they're stunned. It's not only because Libras are not deft at suppressing sociability, though.
It's also because this spell is not very academic. It's a brute spell that tends to only work in physical altercations. Libras are better at the highly intellectual spells.
4 Master: Alohomora
Libras are great with spells of academia (they must love the Latin influence), but they are also incredibly capable of spells that have an inherent Yin and Yang to them. That's why Alohomora is an obvious one they can master.
Alohomora works to unlock doors or barriers wizards and witches encounter. Colloportus is the spell that counteracts this and locks doors. Libras would be enthralled by this sense of symmetry.
3 Fail: Avada Kedavra
Avada Kedavra, considering it is one of the three unforgivable curses, is a spell that would be hard for any wizard to unleash, unless they are a Death Eater or a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor.
Libras would find it borderline impossible to even hear about, let alone attempt to master. Of all the Zodiac signs, Libras might have the least potential to inflict such a curse upon others.
2 Master: Finite Incantatem
No matter what spell is cast, if the wand-bearer has enough time to react to it, they can stop it. That is due to the spell known as Finite Incantatem, which was crafted with the express purpose of balancing out the spells cast by others.
It's symmetrical and balanced, but it's also an excellent safeguard. Libras would not only master this spell, they'd be eager to learn it. To bring this balance to their world would be an invaluable skill.
1 Fail: Repelo Muggletum
Repelo Muggletum is a pretty obvious spell that can be deciphered from its name, even if it was used infrequently in the stories of Harry Potter. It works to repel Muggles from interacting with a magical person.
Libras would have no interest in this spell because they want to meet people of all backgrounds, no matter who they are. Even if they tried to learn it, they would immediately fail. It's just not in a Libra's arsenal.
