Doubling Down with the Derricos: Karen Derrico Instagram Highlights
Karen Derrico is not a regular mom. She’s a super mom! The leading lady of TLC’s Doubling Down with the Derricos is the talk of reality TV town. From giving birth to four sets of multiples to looking after 14 kids, Karen surely knows the A-B-Cs of parenting. But does she share her secrets with the Doubling Down with the Derricos fans? Karen calling out “Oh Derricos” to her 11 children on the Doubling Down with the Derricos teaser is by this time, iconic. The first episode of the TLC show had Karen and her husband Deon showcase what it takes to run a family of 16. Be it the $3000 they spend per week on groceries or getting the little Derricos ready for school in birth order, the Las Vegas couple made fans sit up and take notes. Karen is show pregnant with her latest set of triplets on the reality show as she prepares to get hospitalized due to complications. But she and the Derrico children make hearts melt when they hug each other goodbye before her departure. Doubling Down with the Derricos fans had many questions after the show – are the babies born via IVF, did she have a safe delivery, what are Karen and Deon like off-screen? The TLC star mom’s Instagram pretty much answers most of these questions.
The Doubling Down with the Derricos momma first started her Instagram account in 2013 right after the couple gave birth to their quintuplets. Karen and Deon were featured in major publications like DailyMail and also on TV with The Today Show for their miracle babies. Karen’s Instagram account is a treat these days as she keeps her fans engaged via fun challenges like “The Name Game” where she put up a picture of one of the Derrico kids and asks them to guess his/her name. A 2014 post has Karen flaunting her post-quintuplets body in a shimmering cocktail gown as she heads out for the Torch Awards. The Derrico mother’s feed also has lots of throwback pictures from when she was pregnant with her older children. There are posts dedicated to the Derricos at school or visiting Knott’s Berry Farm in California, and Karen sporting various stylish hairdos.
A throwback post from 2017 features Karen and Deon on the sets of The View, holding the triplins, which is their twin boys after Carter Derrico’s unfortunate demise. As reported earlier, the Doubling Down with the Derricos stars have been famous way before the TLC show, and Karen’s posts showcase every milestone. She refers to the quintuplets as her “Quints” and by 2017, she has 11 Derrico children already. In 2018, Karen attended her first public speaking event in Boston for the MIT Hackathon where she spoke about her breastfeeding experience. She also created a project about an app about breast milk management called “Milk Angels.”
Karen who used to be a flight attendant before being a stay at home mom is a breastfeeding advocate. By mid-August 2018, 9 of the Derricos had joined school and by July 2019, Karen gave birth to the new triplets she’s pregnant with on the show. Right now, the Doubling Down with the Derricos mom is busy with promotions for the TLC show. The responses have all been super positive and Karen’s Instagram is sure to keep growing with followers just like her famous family.
