Legend of Zelda Fan Art Imagines Hayden Christensen As Live-Action Link
One artist imagines Hayden Christensen as a live-action Link from The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo's action-adventure series is one of the most esteemed video game franchises. Ocarina of Time remains the highest rated video game on Metacritic. Meanwhile, Breath of the Wild is one of Nintendo Switch's best selling games, with over 20 million units sold since its release in 2017. The core Legend of Zelda series has always put an emphasis on high quality design and gameplay. Breath of the Wild 2 remains a much anticipated title, though no release date has been announced.
Out of all Nintendo's franchises, it's reasonable to argue The Legend of Zelda is best suited for the cinematic treatment. With its large dungeons, unique monsters, and deep lore, a Hollywood adaption could be as grand as The Lord of the Rings. Sadly, no such project is confirmed to be in the works. With movies like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Mega Man, and the animated Super Mario Bros. on the way, it's hopefully more of a possibility today. Should The Legend of Zelda ever be made into live-action, a big question is who would play Link. One artist has answered the call.
Over on Instagram, artist isatonic has shared a live-action The Legend of Zelda piece. The artwork has Christensen playing the role of Link. Christensen is best known for portraying Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Check out the artwork below.
The artwork is certainly impressive. Link's green attire is perfectly lifted from the games. Isatonic also makes an intriguing case for Christensen to play the iconic Nintendo hero. His Star Wars background could serve him well in a The Legend of Zelda film. After all, Christensen has proven himself to be a master of lightsabers; the next step could be wielding the Master Sword.
One of the biggest questions with a movie adaptation is which The Legend of Zelda storyline should be adapted. Many fans would likely agree Ocarina of Time is the best option, considering how well it introduces the characters. As a Link versus Ganon story, it is hard to beat. Twilight Princess would certainly make for an excellent though moody adaption. Although, Midna, the Twilight Realm, and Wolf Link could be a bit much for a first movie. Of course, simply grabbing elements from different games and telling its own version of the Hero of Time's tale could work as well. For now, it's all fun discussion until Nintendo hopefully announces it is bringing The Legend of Zelda to the big screen.
