Harry Potter: What Wand Would The Characters Of The Office Have?
The characters from The Office are all so amazing and unique in their own ways, which makes the cast incredibly dynamic and all the more hilarious to watch. Because of their personalities, pairing them up with a wand from Harry Potter becomes incredibly easy to do.
In Harry Potter, the wand chooses the witch or wizard, based on their personality, goals, strength, and sometimes ambition. No two wands are alike, as they each seem to also have their different personalities. Wands are made of different wand woods and magical cores to create the perfect balance. Each wand wood and each core specialize in different areas and look for different attributes in their owners, and this is which wands the cast from The Office would have if they were in the wizarding world.
10 Dwight Schrute - Vine, Dragon Heartstring
Vine is the perfect wand for Dwight Schrute. Vine wands are considerably rarer than most woods but seem to instantly know when their future owner first walks into the wand shop. They seek those with greater purposes, with goals out of the ordinary. Dwight spends the entirety of the show wanting to be the general manager of the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, but continuously gets thwarted.
While Michael is in charge, he insists that he is Assistant General Manager, though no title exists. He has clear goals and ambitions, and a vine wand would latch onto that mindset. Dragon heartstring also suits Dwight best, its powerful nature will give Dwight stronger magic that would suit him perfectly and may leave others a bit uneased.
9 Angela Martin - Pine, Phoenix Feather
Pine and phoenix feather makes for an excellent combo for Angela. Pine chooses those who are individualists and rather independent. Angela never really cares what anyone thinks of her and is always fully herself. She is pretty mean and sassy, but always says what's on her mind, even if others don't want to hear it.
Phoenix feather takes the longest to master of the wand cores and can be the most finicky, but Angela would definitely be able to dominate it and create a wide range of amazing magic with it.
8 Andy Bernard - Holly, Unicorn Hair
Though Holly is on the rarer side of wand woods, this wand absolutely fits Andy's personality and would quickly latch onto him. This wand is prone to choosing people who may need help overcoming anger and impetuosity, which Andy definitely needs help with. Andy has anger management issues and seeks help within one of the first seasons he is in the show.
He gets angry one day while in the office and punches a hole through the wall in front of everyone. Andy makes great strides in recovery for the majority of the show, but falls off the wagon again in the final season. This wand, paired with a unicorn hair, will be a consistent help to better Andy's issues.
7 Erin Hannon - Dogwood, Unicorn Hair
Dogwood wands love to have fun. They are mischievous and playful in nature and they seek a partner who will share in the fun. This, paired with the unicorn hair which will be loyal to Erin, make for the perfect wand for this rather whimsical girl.
Erin is probably one of the funniest characters in the show and has the largest heart. What often comes off as ditzy is a very happy-go-lucky personality who always wants have fun and make the people around her smile. With this wand, Erin is sure to bring joy to the rest of those in the office.
6 Kevin Malone - Larch, Unicorn Hair
Larch wands often give their owners endless confidence and courage, which Kevin seems to have an endless supply of within himself. Kevin doesn't often think poorly of himself. He has the courage to be himself and understands that people will either like him for who he is or not.
It is said that the larch wands may lead the witch or wizard who uses it to realize their full potential, which could be good for Kevin. Kevin comes into his own as the series goes on as he becomes more ingrained with the main cast and more relevant in the series.
5 Ryan Howard - Cherry, Dragon Heartstring
Though the wand always chooses the wizard, in this case, it may be the other way around. Ryan loves aesthetics and loves to be cool. For that reason, he may want a wand made of the cherry tree, a wand highly appreciated in wizarding school in Japan due to its pretty nature. Though the wand may seem more ornamental, it has a powerful punch and can possess lethal strength.
This wand should almost never be paired with that of a dragon heartstring, save for the owner being in total self-control and have powerful strength of mind, which Ryan does not. But he would love the flashy nature of the wood and its core, so this might be a disaster waiting to happen, as is always the case with Ryan.
4 Kelly Kapoor - Rowan, Dragon Heartstring
There is an old saying about rowan wands (and a number of others) that Ollivander has stated to have some truth, "rowan gossips, chestnut drones, ash is stubborn, hazel moans." Each of these wands have slight characteristics to do what the small poem suggests, so what better owner for the gossiping wand than the gossip of the office.
Kelly loves and thrives on gossip. While Jim was seated near her, he spoke of how she just gossiped all day, every day, about people she knew. This wand will prove to be powerful for Kelly and work well in her hand.
3 Pam Beesley - Willow, Unicorn Hair
Willow wands are best suited for those who have little confidence in themselves but are destined for greatness. Though the series didn't really continue with this plotline, Pam is an artist and, like many, doesn't have a ton of faith in herself. The willow wand thrives with someone who doesn't see their own potential but continues to strive for their goal.
Pam didn't believe in herself, and often hasn't throughout the series, but makes efforts that constantly push her forward. She ran across fire, she invited everyone to her art show, and she spoke her mind in moments when she needed to most.
2 Jim Halpert - Cedar, Unicorn Hair
There really is no loyalty like Jim Halpert loyalty. He had the same crush on the same girl for years, and years while she was with someone else, never pressed, and simply just waited. Jim consistently shows his loyalty time and time again with Pam and shows her that she is the most important thing in his life.
Cedar and unicorn hair both thrive with unusually strong and loyal personalities. This wand also will thrive with someone with a strong personality which Jim also has. He is funny and determined, even if he doesn't know where his determination will always take him. He stands out from the rest of the cast in every way.
1 Michael Scott - Holly, Dragon Heartstring
Because wands somehow have their own way of knowing their owner's heart, holly would make for the perfect wand wood for Michael Scott. Michael spends a big part of the series pinning over Holly and trying to get over her, but always seems unable to.
The wand would hear his yearning and attach itself to him while also becoming the perfect protection wand that it is known for. This wand would be tied with a dragon heartstring to make flamboyant and flashy spells that Michael would absolutely adore (and probably cause a mess out of).
