How to Get Toddler Reward Traits in The Sims 4 | Screen Rant
In The Sims 4, players can achieve reward traits as early as the age of a toddler. Reward traits are usually not gained by an adult character starting out but instead by their later generations. This is due to the traits being rewarded for reaching certain goals at different ages throughout the sim's life.
As such, the reward traits often relate to completing goals or achieving specific skill levels. Although at most other ages, sims can gain several different reward traits, only two can be achieved as a toddler. This is mainly due to this age group not being able to do much outside of learning very basic skills of life. Instead of gaining handicaps for not reaching certain levels in these skills if not pushed into, players will receive one or two positive traits for excelling.
As a toddler, sims have five different skills at their disposal that they can put their time and effort into. Among these are the Imagination, Communication, Thinking, Movement, and Potty. Some of these require the sim to have certain items that they can interact with so that they may gain these skills.
Imagination covers the more creative side of things a toddler can do. This mostly just requires so basic toys that the toddler can play with, adding their own enjoyment to the items. Communication requires another sim, sibling, parent, or stranger to speak with the toddler. This is accelerated by an adult sim teaching the toddler with cards. Thinking is related to specific toys like building blocks, this skill will later attach to the logic and science-based skills. Movement is started by a parent or stranger teaching the toddler to walk, but once the toddler knows how to walk they just need to go in the right direction. This skill will later be connected to the fitness skill line. Finally, Potty, something that will hopefully never need to be addressed later in life, simply requires a potty.
With these skills, the toddler can achieve two different reward traits. Either the Happy Toddler trait or the Top-Notch Toddler. The Happy Toddler trait is gained when a toddler grows into a child and already has at least a level three in all five skills. The Top-Notch Toddler is given to a toddler that ages up with all five of their toddler skills maxed out. These reward traits affect how quickly the sim will gain skills later in life.
The Happy Toddler trait makes the sim learn a little bit faster, while the Top-Notch Toddler makes learning much faster in any skill the sim tries to gain. Either way, the player will be rewarded for properly caring for their young one and be gifted with a quick learner. This trait will stay with the sim for the rest of their life, and it's a useful one.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac OS, Classic Mac OS, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
