Justice League’s Snyder Cut Gets a New Logo | Screen Rant
Just ahead of the debut of its first full trailer, the Snyder Cut of Justice League has unveiled a new, simpler logo on its official Twitter account. The saga of the Snyder Cut will reach a major milestone today when the DC FanDome panel on the movie will reveal the first full-length trailer for what is now being called the Director's Cut of Justice League. Not only that, but it is expected that the panel will also contain information about the release date for the movie, as well as whether it will still be one movie, or split into two, or perhaps even split up into a mini-series.
The long-awaited announcement has caused excitement around the internet, which has been building since the Snyder Cut was officially announced back in May. The movie will debut on Warner Media's streaming service HBO Max, in an effort to draw subscribers and make it as widely available as possible. Snyder has teased a whole raft of new footage, cut from the theatrical cut by Joss Whedon, who took over from Snyder after the latter left the project due to a family tragedy.
Now, the official Twitter account of the Snyder Cut of Justice League has updated its profile picture to a new logo for the movie. It's a lot simpler compared to the logo that was used before, removing the JL and making the central star much larger. Now, it's simply a large white star on a black background. You can see the simple logo below.
It's unclear why the logo was changed, but given that the official title has changed from Zack Snyder's Justice League to The Director's Cut of Justice League or more simply The Snyder Cut, it could be a sign that there were rights issues with the name, and the studio is deciding to distance this version from the theatrical cut as much as it can. The end result is much simpler, and arguably less attractive, though there is little here to complain about.
The logo may also hold a clue to what the Snyder Cut will look like. The fact that its black and white might be an aesthetic choice, but could also reference Superman's black suit, which Snyder has teased before. There have also been a number of shots released by Snyder in black and white. Could this logo be pointing to the fact that certain sections of the movie, flashbacks perhaps, will be in black and white? That seems less likely, but when it comes to the Snyder Cut of Justice League all bets are off the table.
